We had one of these threads going a few years ago, and it was pretty cool.

This was cool. It actually shot plastic bullets.

My brother got this the same year.

http://users.rcn.com/ed.ma.ultranet/dr4.jpeg

Received this when I was 11, I believe. Spent New Years Eve taping the Top 89 Countdown on WLS Radio in Chicago.

My brother got this, if not the exact layout, it was close including the snap on guardrails. It took approximately 4 hours to set up and another hour to tweak to remove the areas with shorts. So he always needed help. It also required moving his bed to fit it in his room.

One of the few Xmas toys to produce cooperation because even after you set it up, you would have to sit on opposite sides to recover cars lost off the track. And it was so long and difficult to run you actually had to be quiet to concentrate to finish a lap.

mraynrand
12-26-2015, 01:52 PM
^^^ I had a friend who got that too. Man that was fun. The magnets on the 'curve hugger' cars were too strong though. We swapped out for other cars and those things would fly 5-10 feet when they whipped off the track.

As a child I was really into playing:

1) War games. ....my Father a WWII Vet and the Korean War on in the early 1050's when I was 6-8 years of age.

2) Cowboys and Indians.

My friends and I generally spent Sat. mornings and /or afternoon's at the movies....in Saint John, NB.

Lots of Westernd, War and Adventure Movies and Continued Series's like Flash Gordon featured. We enjoyed News Reels, Shorts....Cartoons and a double feature movie.

The original cost to OUR parents back in the early 1950's.... all that for a $ dime $.

Those were great times. For a $ quarter $ we got caramels and popcorn to go with the features.

Our parents ( I later learned ) got their privacy to produce more siblings...LOL.

Here's a Lasso 'em Bill Double Holster set !
