Time for the long line of Mea Culpa's to start forming for those lighting up the Bears for trading for Cutler. Bears lighting up the Jets.

RAMS lead by eight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Playoffs still possible

Phily/MN game postponed. Nuts

Screw you Dwayne Bowe; when I needed your ass last week in the playoffs you disappeared and you come out again this week

Good chance the Chargers are not making the playoffs. Chiefs blowing Titans out. Teams would be terrified of the Chargers in the playoffs

Coaching advantage? Even Bear fans don't like Lovie's coaching abilities.

It's his assistants that make that staff so strong
Martz and Marinelli as OC and DC and Tice as a OL coach is stellar

All the little things........they do right that year

add all the former head coaches on the team to their current head coach, and you get one pretty damn good head coach

The MNF crew is horrible. ESPN needs to start holding up there end of the bargain and get the tradition back.

The Bears defense surrendered 34 points to the MAC quality offense that is the NY Jets. Marinelli might not be the savior you think him to be.

Just like to say this.............we should have drafted Robert Meacham as many of us noted pre draft and in the thread :)

Has anybody taken a look at the stats? I give the Bears credit for winning, but they smell like a team that will get exposed in the playoffs. Hopefully, by us.

completely agree

If we come ready to play the only explicable way da Bears beat us would be several slouch Slocum ST breakdowns

If not for those we'd have beat them the first time as well

They clearly have an advantage in special teams. Like Bretsky said, if we don't let their special teams beat us, we should win the game.

I was really hoping we would get Jenkins and Zombo back for this game but that doesn't sound like it will be the case. Ah well, maybe in the playoffs.

The injuries to Bigby and Hall have me concerned, more shuffling on ST.

Forgot.

Penalty yards

GB 587 (3rd fewest)
CHI 722 (15th)

Think about that. More than 1/4 of our penalty yards for the season was in the first Bears game. We had 18 penalties for 152 yards (compared to 3 for the Bears). In the other 14 games, we had 435 yards in penalties.

Even with that game, we are just 32 yards from being the least penalized team in the NFL.

Interesting note in the Press Gazette:

“We had two interceptions that we gave them back,” Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers said. “If we make one of them, the game’s probably over. We had two others in our hands that we didn’t make. So it went from being a three to five interception game to one. If you want to win games like that, you’ve got to make those. You can’t make them and then give them back to them.”

It would have seemed unfathomable at the time, but the Packers have gone on to be one of the least-penalized teams in the NFL. Through Sunday’s games, they were tied for fourth in fewest penalties committed with 74 (not including ones that were declined) and were third in fewest penalty yards with 587.

They had just three fouls for 31 yards in Sunday’s 45-17 win over the New York Giants. Two of those were defensive infractions – an illegal contact against cornerback Charles Woodson and a pass interference against cornerback Tramon Williams. That snapped a streak of eight straight games in which the defense committed zero or one penalty. The last multiple-penalty game by the defense was the Oct. 17 loss to Miami.

Bears are scary because:

1. ST's
2. Great turnover forcing defense

Packers are scary because:

1. Passing offense and great at limiting turnovers
2. Stingy defense

This is two evenly matched teams. It's another great game, but man, I don't want the season to end. I really hope we pull this out and I know we can.

This means the Bears clinch a 1st round bye. Falcons host 2-13 Panthers at noon Sunday. If Falcons win, Bears have nothing to play for against the Packers as they will be locked into the #2 seed. Does Lovie pull his starters, or does he play them figuring he has a week off no matter what happens.

Vick is hobbled and has to play again on a very short week. Wonder how that will affect him.

It would likely be a shootout. Eagles have the league's top offense, but have given up the most points of any playoff team. Eagles are respectable defensively in terms of yardage, but give up points. Are they just a bad red zone defense?
