At times, when quoting someone, I have entered text into an actual post rather than into the Quick Reply window. I had the illusion of posting when all I was doing was tinkering with an original post. Those tinkerings disappear upon hitting submit and the Quick Reply window containing the quote requires adding at least one character of text which you in all likelihood did not do.
