Had one of those 'wow' moments when I saw a poll on Sportsline, asking which was the best player taken at #24 since 2000.

Aaron Rodgers
Ed Reed
Steven Jackson
Chris Johnson
Dallas Clark

Four superstars, and one pretty damn good player. Impressive for the bottom third of the round.

Brandon Meriweather was also taken in that spot. Not too many whiffs at that spot!

edit: charmed #24 spot, not charged!

Well the Saints get it this year. Of course they were rather un-charmed in getting to that spot.

Last time GB had it Ron Wolf picked an offensive tackle from USC, I think, who sucked ass.

Didn't we also trade down and take George Teague with the last pick in the first....31 at the time was a compensation pick or something like that.

#32

Dennis Northcut
Drew Brees
Patrick Ramsey
Tyler Brayton
Ben Watson
Logan Mankins
Mathias Kiwanuka
Anthony Gonzalez
Kenny Phillips
Ziggy Hood
Patrick Robinson

#32 is a not so hot pick apparently. Which further drives home the point, if you get a RB who's 1,000 yards every year for 8 years with the #32 pick, even if he's not a superstar, you're still happy.

As long as we dont have the 16th pick I'm fine.

Agreed, provided they earn it and don't trade for it! :)

All time Packer rusher, Ahman Green, had 8,322 yards. If we get a guy who gets at least 8,000 yards in his career, I would consider that one of the more successful TT picks - and as you know, TT has already had some great picks.

Besides, I think in that list, Gonzalez, Mankins, Watson, and Brees are some very good picks. Looks like at least 50% hit rate, though some of those are still too early to say.
