The Green Bay Packers (http://bleacherreport.com/green-bay-packers) have been unable to visit the White House and receive their Super Bowl rings due to league rules under the lockout. But today, a judge halted the lockout, clearing the way for the world champion Packers (http://bleacherreport.com/green-bay-packers) to tidy up unfinished business from last season.
The Packers are still looking for some face time with President Obama after being snubbed prior to the NFC Championship game with the Bears (http://bleacherreport.com/chicago-bears). Obama was an Illinois Senator and Chicago Bears (http://bleacherreport.com/chicago-bears) fan. Packers Pro Bowl cornerback Charles Woodson called out Obama after winning the championship, saying "Guess What? We're gonna see him."

The Packers were concerned that the labor impasse might mean they would never get to visit the White House as a team. Perhaps they should hurry, as the CBA is far from a done deal. The league has lost some leverage over the players, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell pointed out that the only way a season will occur is when both sides come together and negotiate a deal.
While this ruling is considered a victory for the players, the end of the lockout may be the best first step towards CBA resolution and the beginning of the 2011 season.
For the Packers, the ring ceremony will be a cathartic and long overdue event. The Super Bowl championship rings will also carry great individual meaning to those receiving them.
Aaron Rodgers (http://bleacherreport.com/aaron-rodgers) waited patiently for years for his opportunity and now has achieved the pinnacle of football accomplishments. Charles Woodson finally gets that ring he has hunted his long career. Ted Thompson has something truly significant to appease naysayers and to finally put the Favre fiasco behind him. Mike McCarthy has joined the likes of Lombardi and Holmgren in immortality.
And for Green Bay Packer fans, it is another reason to celebrate football.

It's questionable journalism and should never be taken at face value. That being said, I still find it entertaining. That gives it some redeeming value IMO.

Remember Jerry Jones sitting across from a group of players an threatening, "if you want this, oh, you're going to get it, I promise you that."

Well Jerry, when is "it" coming? The court is bigger than you and you're not walking away from the game. Sell your team if you don't like it, but probably you'll just open your books and do what DeMaurice demanded from you at the start. If that was the, "it" everyone was supposed to be so worried about, I don't think they're very worried.

If the owners appealed the decision by Nelson then the guys aren't gonna go see Obama any time soon.

The Packers will have to wait to see Obama. He'll be celebrating the victory of the players with his future sports czar Da Moron and the tool judge he appointed.

Like everything else Obama touched, this is going to blow up in his face.

I can understand you disliking Jerry and disliking his threatening the players. I don't recall that incident, but I would find it repulsive, even if I were an owner.

However, the fat lady is still to sing and anything can happen. If the owners (I side with them) had gotten Nelson's nod I would have the same opinion. I wouldn't be cooing any victory just yet. Besides, there is no lasting peace possible with a humiliated conquered people. Adolph Hitler taught the world that.
