I would hardly call him ignorant. He was just firm in his beliefs which were different than most. That could make him a lot of things, including stubborn, brash, or offensive, but hardly ignorant.

I watched part of "The Suite Life on Deck" with my daughter once. I think KSM would have given up Osama's entire portfolio - Credit card numbers, mother's maiden name, favorite pet, teacher in school, etc. if he had to watch that as opposed to waterboarding.
