i also first and foremost want to see favre under control and throwing the short routes, unlike family night where he was throwing the long jump balls again

NO INJURIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I'll br paying close attention to the new o-line, the young guys (hawk, hodge, jennings, rodgers)

and also be watching to see how A. Rodgers is coming along, seeings how preseason is all we will have to base the guys talent on

i want to see intensity, i don't care if this is a preseason game, i want to see our guys fired up

one thing i don't expect to see a lot of is hodge playing the SAM tonight. he just started to learn the position a day or 2 ago. no need to rush him that fast. he might get some time there at some point, but not to start the game

12 1/2 hours to go

1. Mistake free offense from the starters/Favre
2. Big plays *ST, Offense, Defense, whatever just make some TO's, goalline stops or big offensive plays*
3. Playmakers start to emerge. Hawk, Collins, Jennings, Woodson...I want to see them make big, ball jarring hits, INT's, Sacks, whatever..I know this goes with the big plays thing, but I think that is what we need.
4. I want to see that the weak links have been mended. I don't need special play out of the G's but good sound, NFL gaurd play would be more than enough for me.

In summary, I want to see good sound football, no weak links and an amazing play sprinkled in from time to time with less TO's in the wrong direction. If we can play that kind of football we'll win some more games. Something tells me we're going to be exposed in some areas. I'm not so ready to annoint this team anything more than just below average. Well on their way, but now quite there.

Defense sacked Rivers twice in one series (KGB looked pretty good on pass rush). So maybe FIVE.

Good Point Fosco, but on that first drive the Packers pressure and defense, for that matter, looked non existent. I know KGB and Cole got a sack, but overall they didn't get any pressure on the QB's IMO.

Good Point Fosco, but on that first drive the Packers pressure and defense, for that matter, looked non existent. I know KGB and Cole got a sack, but overall they didn't get any pressure on the QB's IMO.

Here's the second quarter pressure analysis.

1st and 10: Williams almost stripped Rivers on Cole's sack.
2nd and 11: Cole tackles Turner after a toss left for a short gain.
3rd and 8: Carroll missed Turner who picked up a first down on an inside handoff.

1st and 10: 10 yard sack by KGB on a quick outside rush
2nd and 20: Tracy White was matched up on #86 and got beat for a 13 yd catch. Rivers wasn't in any danger on the down.
3rd and 7 (consecutive 3rd and long situation): Horton couldn't defend the quick pass from Rivers and gave up the first down - removing any dline pressure.

1st and 10: Dline held and stuffed the run for no gain.
2nd and 10: Quick slant to the TE for a first down (beating Culver)

1st and 10: Delayed draw for 1 yard - good upfront again.
2nd and 9: Cole was stuffed but Jolly recoved to get in on the tackle by Hawk (who never wrapped up).
3rd and 2: Quick slant for a first down

1st and 10: Carroll and company shut down the run for a one yard gain.
2nd and 9: Man coverage, Carroll gets away with holding and forces an incomplete throw.
3rd and 9: No line pressure - great pass to Jackson for a first down.

2nd team Packer Defense:

1st and 10: Run defense gave up a 5 yr gain- with Hodge in on the tackle
2nd and 5: Turner runs into a line of Packers for a short gain
3rd and 2: DLine got some pressure and forced Rivers to dump the pass to his safety net for a first down. Jason Hunter had some pressure on the play.

Turner scored on the very next play with poor pursuit by Wisham and Boger.

If anything, this tells me the line played just fine. We need a lot of work on pass coverage and tackling (Orton, Culver, Carroll).
