Nice...thanks Vince.

Like many fans, I always take a shine to certain players for no apparent reason. One of those players, for me, is Marshall Newhouse. But then again I liked "orange" Junius Coston, too.

OK, so if Lang has at least temporarily ascended to No.1 LG (both JSO, GBPG and Harv are reporting this), does anyone have a report where he spent his time with the second team? According to a report I heard on the radio (maybe Wilde?) Lang has been moved back to RT to help backup Bulaga since Newhouse struggled.

Anyone else see or hear this?

6th Round draft choice Caleb Schlauderaff, who's been lousy at 1 on 1, had his best block of camp and it came against a veteran in C.J. Wilson.

Given the camp Wilson is having, that's not much of a recommendation for Schlauderaff.

IMO Lang should start. Sherrod should back up Cliffy with the goal being the #1 left tackle next season. Newhouse should stay on the left side.

Ugh, looks like Clay has a sore hamstring again. Will it ever heal fully?

Fritz
08-18-2011, 02:13 PM
What's with that hammy? Geez.

I think Lang is getting reps at RT. Sherrod is getting them at LG, I think. Not sure about LT.

But if he is getting reps there, and Newhouse can only play LT, where does that leave Newhouse?

Anyone know if there is video of the big fight at the end of today's practice?

(Water balloon fight that is.)

Gurley's been coming on for the last few weeks. He has reliable hands, good size and catches it in traffic. I still don't think his ceiling is very high though. He's been blocking some punts in practice, but I don't think he is has a ton of special teams value. I think you take a chance and hope to get him on the PS.

Man, those are some long ones. Might be the most impressive kicking stats from practice ever.

Crosby was 6 for 6 in FGs. Hit from 40, 44, 46, 50, 53, 56

Seems like Crosby is making just about everying in practice this year. Goode is good. Masthay has to be better as a holder.

And punting.... holy shit. Masthay is amazing. Returns. . . . Cobb, Green . . .

Yeah, ST's should be somewhere between good and great this time.

Agreed. Hopefully he clears waivers. A better Ruvell Martin.

Boy what would have happened if James Jones was not resigned.
