Talking shit in the offseason led to a fateful encounter w/ local Arkansas cops and a nice mug shot photo op...

What'd he say?

He was just jarring with players several times. During my tape viewing session, I noticed this after a player bobbled the ball out of bounds on the right sideline.

Carroll didn't look any different than the last two years. He had good coverage on a lot of plays, but gave up some and has poor ball skills.

Packers cornerback Ahmad Carroll remembers when he got burnt by a white receiver during his rookie season in 2004 when the Packers were hosting the Titans on "Monday Night Football." The Packers were torched for three passing touchdowns in the 48-27 loss, but the one play Carroll remembers the most was the 11-yard touchdown pass from Steve McNair to Eddie Berlin.

Berlin is white.

"If I get burned by a white receiver, I'm going to hear about it more than if that's not the case," Carroll said. "Anybody who says otherwise is tripping."

I was reading this article and that paragraph stood out.

I sometimes wonder if Carroll cheated on his wonderlich test...the kid is about as intelligent as JW.

Just watched his interview and it occurs to me that he can talk crap on the field all he wants and no one's gonna understand him anyway.

Is that because I'm watching the team interviews on a Sunday afternoon or because I simply cannot understand a word that that man says?

That's personal. It's just him that I have such a hard time with, I can understand everyone else on the team. It has nothing to do with region as I can understand the rthe rest of the southerners, black or white, it really is just him.

Let's face facts. They ALL got toasted last night.

Who the fing hell cares if he is talking on the field. Watch someone else that plays reciever and corner, and you will notice that those two positions never stop talking and I don't care if they are starters or cannon fodder in the preseason, they are always talking.

Carroll had some really nice plays last night. He gave up the same pass that Harris did, granted after it was already done to Harris, but Carroll actually had better coverage than Harris.

And Mad is right, Harris looked slow as constipated shit last night.

Rivers stayed the hell away from Woodson.

Complaining about Carroll running his mouth is like complaining about Brett being a gambler. For better or for worse, he is what he is. Of course, Brett has prospered because he makes enough positive plays to more than offset the bad ones. Ultimately, Carroll will be judged the same way. Does he make the plays, or doesn't he?

He's a good player, but he really needs to keep his mouth shut. The kid acts like he's a fucking pro-bowler.

and yet, Carroll still sucks.
