View Full Version : Does preseason suck?

no! preseason rocks, best time of year to talk football, at least until the playoffs.

and if anybody asks you, 4 preseason games is not too many, they need that time to separate the good from the bad. This year, the pack could use more time to find good for the lines.

OK, but must admit the last two weeks of preseason are getting old. the last game is a bore. Thrill of practice reports is long gone. it sucks a bit now.

The last game is rough. I made it through 4 quarters of game three, but that is unlikely tonight.

The worst part about the last preseason "game" is you don't see much of the starters. Of all of these scrimmages I'm glad I'm gonna miss this one. Happily I'll be watching Bucky on BSPN.

Tis a necessary evil... I usually tape them, then go back and look at specific players, just to see how they are looking.

Besides, if you've ever played the game... there is one hell of a big difference between being in shape, and being in "game shape".

preseason is not just the games, which are so-so at best. its seeing how the team is coming together, what is going on with players around league, what teams are going to rise/fall

same deal with spring training for baseball, for those who consider baseball a sport

Exactly what I do, tough to watch live but great for isolating on a specific player...

Watching baseball these days is like watching paint dry.

Except for season ticket holders who actually have to pay money for these games, no they do not suck. Great way to get ready for primetime smack talk and as others have said, weeding out the good, the bad, and the old...

Its not about the team, its about the length of time games take today. Watching a player step out of the batters box 12 different times during an at bat or a pitcher step off the mound six times before the throws a pitch is too much for my patience.

weeding out the good, the bad, and the old... leave Donald Driver out of this

Baseball will continue to be bad until they implement a salary cap to force teams to be competitive. Right now, dudes like the Royals have to get lucky to even compete, and even then they fade away because of salary constraints.

If you are Jerry Babb, preseason is the most awesome thing ever. Perspective is everything.

I must say I'm glad I watched the end of the Colt game last week, however.

Yes, it's not exciting like football, in which there are television timeouts and coach timeouts and time out between plays....what does 60 minutes of football actually translate into, in terms of the number of minutes the players are actually playing?

I enjoy the preseason. But it is absurd that teams charge FULL PRICE for games like tonight. Preseason games should be 50% off.

Pugger

No kidding. It is shameful they will charge full price for what is nothing more than an intersquad scrimmage.

I love the preseason. Packers can lose to the Browns and nobody gets upset.

Love it.

Yeah, when I was younger I always hated the preseason, but I appreciate the player evaluation side of it now. Trying to figure out who's going to make the team, who might be even better than that a la Shields.

I'd like to see So'oto and Lattimore come out firing tonight. I'll be watching that, Alex Green, Sherrod and taking a peek in the secondary. Pack streaming on laptop and Badgers(Braves switch-backs) on the boob.

What stamina. I made it all the way through plus Badgers on radio. Where's my certificate of achievement?

This is true but it still is shameful that they charge full price for these "games".
