It's here.............TIME TO GET PUMPED UP

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3pFD-xdPRE

After beating the best or next best team in the NFL, the Packers go on the road and face clearly one of the worst teams in the NFL. But every game counts and that is why you play the game !!!!

Everybody is walking on the clouds with their rosy colored flipping Kook Aide Glasses right now. Time to wake up; I'm spiking that Kook Aide with Red Sharp Brandy so it doesn't taste quite as good.

Prepare to be CAMINATED !!

Nowhere in the history of the NFL did we see a rookie come out and dominate a game like Cam Newton did last week. He presents the mobiliy and passing ability to drive a team like Green Bay, who let's face it isn't big on speed with their DL, absolutely crazy.

Remember Vick versus GB in the playoffs before you chalk this one up as a win

Next week we play the Bears

This week we are overlooking the Panthers; this is a classic trap game and we're falling right into it.

On offense, expect another explosive day for Green Bay. Simply put, we have too many weapons for Carolina and should put mulitple scores.

On defense, there is a good change Ty Williams either doesn't play or he doesn't make it through the game. Expect Carolina to expose Sam Shields like Drew Brees did last week. Expect Slipery Steve Smith to have another solid game. And with the dual threat of running/passing from Cam Newton, expect the highly overrated DaAngelo Williams to have a respectable game.

SOLID GAME DAY PREDICTIONS

* Expect Red to use mass profanity against his favorite Packer Player in Jarrett Bush; yes Bush will need to cover today and once again we will all wonder why he makes the team based on special teams when our coverage units SUCK

* Expect to see a lot of frustraion when Raji, Green, and Pickett are unable to catch Cam Newton

* Expect our lack of OLB pass rush opposite Clay Matthews to be exposed again like it was vs. the Saints

* Expect one homer call sending anger all over PR

TRAP GAME. Sorry to piss in your Kool Aide Rats. You are getting Caminized Today

Panthers 30
Packers 28

I'm headed to a Packer bar here in Virginia. Damn apt doesn't allow DirecTV (oh how I miss it!).

I'm thinking CM3 has a huge game - 3 sacks, 1 fumble. I think Shields gets tested and responds with an INT. ARod throws for 300+ and 3 TDs. Finley gets his first. Cobb will get another (but not on a kickoff).

Packers win TOP, Turnovers and Arod shows up another #1 draft choice. M3 is smart enough to know this is a possible trap - but it's too early for that. Pack will dominate.

Closest one is in Frederick and if I left now, I'd still never make it. I'm going to end up watching it here. My kid got on a cleaning streak and I'm not interrupting that unless it's absolutely mandatory. I'll find a link. That way I can also get some stuff done during commercials. And I have a killer batch of leftover pot roast...

I'll happily refill the koolaid. When you call a game a trap game that just means that if you lose, there will be no excuse. I can't remember the last time I saw a team other than the Packers beat the Packers and even they couldn't prevent today's blowout. 70 - 0 Packers.

Oh and Jarrett Bush plays well.

Packers4Glory

Tramon Williams out.

sucks but you know Shields looks like he needs some reps as well as the back ups. The secondary didn't looks too hot last week. Its time for Shields to grow. he's not a rookie now. Gotta take some steps forward in his 2nd season.

Better off to let Williams get closer to 100% this early in the season rather than risk this being a nagging problem the entire season.

Early verdict: Cam Newton looks good. Little bit of elongated throwing motion which he can compensate for y not having to set feet and being bigger than everyone else and taking a hit while throwing. Matthews had him dead to rights and he hit Shockey in stride.

pbmax
09-18-2011, 12:27 PM
I will say this, they are using his arm strength to give him throws that are to the outside rather than into the middle of the field. You might be able to cover the boundaries and leave fewer bodies in the middle of the field.

I think the Packers need to play him like Rothliesberger. Controlled pass rush, little blitzing, tons of bodies in zone.

Packers defense will start shutting down that underneath stuff. They need to get consistent pressure from the front 4. The Panther coaching staff has tailored this offense perfectly around Newton, but it has its limitations. The defense needs to create a couple turnovers in this one.

Cam is for real. The guy has a cannon arm, and can extend plays like Big Ben or Culpepper. The question is how can he handle adversity at this level, and is he clutch when he HAS to be. Those are still to be determined. His accuracy is average at best...doesn't matter if his receivers are wide open though.

You cannot say accuracy average at best after 1.25 games.

He is the new Culpepper. He might end up better but thats how I see him. big mofo w/ a good arm and hard to bring down even ifyou get a clean shot. I hated Culpepper when he was at his best. Made the Vikings all the much tougher to beat.

Yes I can. He wasn't that accurate in college. He hasn't been that accurate in the NFL to this point. The one throw he IS accurate on is the corner route. He was deadly with that in college, and has been in the NFL so far. But on other routes, not so much.

You don't have to be highly accurate to be effective with Newton's arm strength and ability to extend plays. Big Ben isn't that accurate either, and has 2 rings. Newton will be able to make big plays, and that is usually worth a lot in the NFL.
