I'm reading tweets all over that Burnett broke his hand and willl try and play Sun. with a club. That will make those ints and tackles real easy. GREAT, another injury.

If true that would be a bit of a relief in a strange sort of way. Why? After Collins and Clifton went down I was starting to worry that 2011 would be a repeat of 2010 on the injury front, except that 2011 would be the year of the career ending (not just season ending) injury. If Burnett broke his hand but can play with a prosthesis, that is just a hang nail--no, a "flesh wound"--by comparison.

just saw this on Packernews.com and came right over here...yep, it's true. This is unbelievable! First thing, this sucks ass, second thing, how the hell do you break your hand in practice? Oh, why should I even ask, Neal "tweeks" his knee in practice and hasn't been back since. If it weren't for bad luck, this team would have no luck at all.

I can only think of the Holmgren video clip "No more rocket balls, please."

Aaron must have fired one.

It happened in a blitz drill. A safety whose tackling ability is hindered can be a real problem. I wonder if we'll see a lot of the base package they use with Woodson moving to Safety. Not sure what they call it.

I would like to kick you in the nuts. But I realize I would just be acting out my frustration over this bad news.

This only makes sense if it means Burnett can be taken off the field completely.

Don't anybody talk to me, I need some alone time.

Larry Wilson a HOF safety for the Cards once finished the season with two broken hands, both of 'em in casts.

It can be done.

It just ain't easy.

This may be the week Jennings could see the field some, depending on the situation/score. Our young tackles stepped up.

I say sit Burnett until after the bye week. Put the best 5 DBs on the field, maybe that includes Bush. They won't be great, but they will still win.

At least we're still the best team in the NFL.

On the bright side I don't think no Burnett will hurt this week. I'm not convinced Bradford can throw deep enough to get to the saftey from his yards pere attemp.

I think we need to get the QB and get real pressure; that will help ANY secondary. Not sure that we can! Clay is double & triple teamed, I know, but he seems to have a down year...or injured!?

Just need to get a stickum exemption for the cast. Then it will be like carrying a magnet.

I wonder how the Packers' injuries are stacking up against other NFL teams so far this season.

I could see this injury ruining Harlan's love life but I think Burnett can still be effective. Those picks will just be passes defended instead of INTs for a few weeks.

no problem with the love life. I often switch hands just to keep things fresh.

How the hell do you tackle in the open field with one arm? Burnett is not as good as Bush when he is playing with one hand.

Give his bone 3 weeks to mend. It'll take much longer to completely heal, but it's nuts to play football with a bone that will unset with a jar.

Love life: I thought he was referring to Burnett's inability to make a fist, or something like that. Tackling with a club isn't so hard, you just get 'em with the shoulder and wrap up with your arms. The hard part for him will be inability to get both hands on the ball.

Nick Collins maybe gone for the season or forever. Chad Clifton is done or nearly so. Another Safety (Morgan Burnett) winged yet available.

No problem. Believe in the system.

We have the 'O' to keep the pressure on the opposition's 'D'; to dominant the clock with an offense that spreads the pass on short yardage gains and some running game.

Business as usual. GO PACKERS !

I'm not worried about today but I sure hope we can figure out how to generate a pass rush by the time we play San Diego if one of our ball hawks is still playing literally with one hand. :-[

yes, you're following along nicely, grandpa. The point I was making is that using the other hand is the equivalent of gettin some strange.

Your Burnett hatred makes me sick. Burnett is keeping it fresh too based.

I thought Burnett did OK, although he missed two tackles because of bad arm. With Shields going out, they needed him.

If Burnett does get a pick this year, he will be the one-armed bandit.
