A win is a win.

Our defense is playing like crap giving up 394 yards.
We went into our usual offensive shell in the 4th qtr instead of puting a bad team away.

Yep. When in the clear, he looks vulnerable to a strip from behind. He does do a good job of protecting the ball when in heavy traffic.

Advanced stats think the Vikings are much more effective than their records indicate. I agree, with Ponder or McNabb.

Can happen with a slant as well. or screen or dump off. Its not always up to the O. If the defense sends the house, then a quick throw or sack is the likeliest outcome.

This was the Vikings SuperBowl. Don't expect this game to be that close at Lambeau in three weeks. Capers will have a lot more film on Ponder by then, we will be at home and some key players (Zombo, Shields) will be back. I have no idea what is going to happen in San Diego but I would bet my house that the Packers will beat the Vikings on MNF!

Anyone wanna give a breakdown of Newhouse today? I really didn't watch him all that much. Saw the first two sacks and he was responsible for at least one of those. I think he let Allen go once too on a run play which ended up for a TFL. Again, not too sure. I did see he was getting help at times, but again, I don't know if it was alot or what.

i wouldn't say he looked real good. other then his fist pass he did a lot of dink and dunk crap and he did make some huge mistakes

after one game, i see him as a flaco type qb. good enough to win, but nothing special and never huge numbers

but who knows

Joemailman

I thought he was pretty impressive. His receiver corp sucks. He throws very well on the run. He made the usual rookie mistakes, which is why his team lost.

Lurker64
10-23-2011, 08:43 PM
I think they should donate those.

The "fine for drops" is actually paid out to each of the other WRs. Each GB WR owes the other four WRs $100 gift cards for every drop they make (and "drop" is defined as "pass that hits both your hands".) I think it's against NFL rules for the team to institute a fine for failure to perform, or something similar.

They could probably do it for charity, but I think they'd rather get the Best Buy gift cards.

I know how and why they do it. I just think they should quietly choose a charity every week an not tell anyone, then donate whatever cards would make the most sense for that charity. What does a millionaire football player need Best Buy cards for?

He struggled with speed to the outside with Allen. He also got hurt a couple of times when he was ripped, basically, Allen grabbing his shirt or shoulder and pulling him aside as Allen pulled himself past Newhouse.

If I had too guess, I would almost say he looked short armed against Allen. But that may just be a simplistic explanation for what actually occurred.

He did run block better than Clifton. Two of their best runs were behind him and Lang. But his pass pro isn't at that level yet.

What isn't clear from these snippets is that this Viking, or someone lined up next to him, used some form of leverage to jump high into the air to attempt to block the kick. I think Lang put the guy on his ass. Which is why he is not happy.

As much money as rookie Randall Cobb is making this year - the only one of the group on a rookie contract - I doubt $100 gift cards provide much incentive. If the guys were only taking home $2500 game checks every week then I'd be more concerned. As it is, there's nothing they could get with a couple dozen gift cards that they couldn't afford on their own salary. I don't find the incentive to fail argument plausible.

That shot was above the groin area. Perhaps an attempt to expell a lodged piece of pretzel. It's all in the game or no affront to speak of. A mnimal fine if any at all.

Allen schooled him all day. Of course Allen can make seasoned veterans look silly but Rodgers had to scramble around the pocket more than normal. Eventually they left Kuhn in there to assist on obvious passing downs. I also noticed on the last drive we ran to the right successfully too. Thankfully Rodgers didn't get hurt. I'm sure Newhouse learned a lot yesterday afternoon!
