Myself, I'm already a bit tired of all the undefeated season talk, but you gotta love it when a guy like Mercury Morris is rooting for your team!

The choice quote in the article, IMHO:

“I have nothing but good things to say about the Packers. If they (end up) in our neighborhood, they’re a credit to the sport. They don’t have a bunch of guys out there who view themselves as entertainers.”

What he says about the Pats is pretty good too.

Don't the '72 Dolphins always end up having a celebratory drink when each season's last undefeated team finally suffers a loss?

Sounds like he feels it might actually happen this time because the Packers aren't spitting in the football gods faces. I agree that 10 wins is when the undefeated fever kicks in.

I wonder where I can get a Mercury Morris CD?

Yes, and the 2008 Detroit Lions will crack open a celebratory case of Crazy Horse if the Colts win a game this year.

Morris lives for a team to start the season with a winning streak. That way people pay attention to him again.

I've always enjoyed the honesty of the 72 Fins. They don't want anyone else on their podium, and they have the sack to actually say it.

And I agree with Morris -- the Pats rubbed me the wrong way during their run. I hope we can keep our blue-collar vibe going.

Was Morris #23? Used to ball out with him in Madden '93 on the Genesis.

No. Morris wore #22, Jim Kiick # 21 and Larry Csonka was #39.
I think those 3 could still produce in today's game. Morris had the speed, Csonka had the power and Kiick would have been a tremendous 3rd down back.

With a body habitus like this, it's easier to be humble

The image in the mirror says "Drive through clerk at McDonalds" but the plate on the door says "Head Coach, Green Bay Packers"

Gotta love it when guys with some humility make it big. Go Stubby.

22, that's right. It was him, the last real fun year of Madden. :)
