The Packers have clinched the #3 playoff spot.
The 49'ers have clinched the #4 playoff spot.
Although close, the Saints have not yet clinched a playoff spot.
One more Packers win or one more Saints loss and the Packers clinch a first round bye.

Currently
Packers 12-0, Conference 10-0, Strength of Victory .426, Strength of Schedule .426
49'ers 10-2, Conference 8-1, Strength of Victory .400, Strength of Schedule .444

The Packers and 49'ers have 3 common games and both are 3-0 so common games will not be a tiebreaker.

Saints 9-3, Conference 6-3, Packers have head to head tiebreaker, SOV .438, SOS .453
In common games the Saints lost to the Rams and are .500 with the Buccaneers.

Things are looking very good right now.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Can't wait until the Packers can control their own destiny: on home field.

The 49ers have beaten some pretty darn good teams. They have three easy ones coming up and a tough one. I'm going to pencil them in at 3-1 the rest of the way (losing to the Steelers.) With that in mind, our magic number is 2. Two wins and odds are, we have home field advantage throughout.

I think I'm rooting for the 49ers down the stretch. I'd like to see the Saints miss their by week, then have to play on the road for the last two playoff games. They are a scary team.

I'd like to have the 49ers be 2 seed and Saints be 3 seed. That way they play each other if the Saints advance to the divisional round.

Agreed. The 49ers are a lot better than anyone gave them credit for, and quite possibly better than the 'aints. I'd still rather face them, with Smith, then roll the dice on facing Brees. I think our O can score on any defense, but if we meet NO in the playoffs, the over/under will be an even 100, and I'm taking the over!

Not that they need that much help, but the Packers got a lot of help in moving up the ladder to being guaranteed no worse than the #3 seed. Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta AND Dallas all managed to lose yesterday. Sealing a home playoff game for the Tundra is a fine, fine thing.

The Who Dats in Green bay for the NFC Championship would make for a crazy matchup....their running game scares me if the weather is shit.

Green Bay is going to play 3 out of their last 4 in Lambeau and then 2 playoff games. That's going to give them a pretty big home field advantage in January. Teams trying to beat Green Bay by running the ball are bringing knives to a gunfight.

I'm glad they need 1 more win to get home field advantage v. New Orleans. New Orleans is a much tougher matchup in the Superdome.

I totally agree. The Saints are a far tougher animal in the dome. They are beatable outdoors in the cold. The Niners seem like a team much better suited for a road game in the cold, with the significant exception of the quality of QB.

This. How do we ensure this? :glug:

Probably don't have to do anything. That's probably how they'll finish. Saints probably can't overtake 49ers for #2. Highly unlikely Cowboys or Giants could overtake Saints for #3.

So my cheering doesn't actually affect anything happening on the field?

Who would the Pack play (slot wise) assuming number 1 seed? Winner of 6 and ??

Surprised the cowboys, bears and falcons lost their way into playoff spots this weekend.

I was worried about the 49ers in the cold but after the Ravens game on TDay I dont think they will be a problem. Theyre a cheap version of the giants.

this is an excellent point I had not thought of, 5 out of 6 games in Lambeau, now that is a nice series to close out the season prior to the SB. How much does a house in GB cost and who wants to sell me tickets for the next 5 home games?

They would play the lowest remaining seed. If 6 beats 3, they would play 6. Otherwise, they would play winner of 4&5.

Packers can clinch #2 spot this week with a win or Saints loss.
