That's the problem. It's all confusing and muddled.

The best tool is silence. A long pause will almost always result in the other party offering more, or at least more information. If you're speaking face to face anyway.

20 years ago, in one of the World Trade Towers, I was taught the same thing........"the first one to talk loses."

Damn, no wonder I've lost a lot of battles! :) I'm all about communication.

Hard to say. Are you trying to negotiate to get your kid to clean their room? You boss to give you a raise? or you ex to sign over something important? :)

Talk to Patler. It used to be how he made his money.

What happens if you are the first to speak and call the other group of individuals, "A bunch of pussy assed Motherfuckers!"? That usually works for me.

My guess is that Ziggy doesn't bench 405.

I have an eight year old who tries to negotiate everything, from TV time, homework and bedtime to whether or not we need to set the clocks back in the fall. Only problem is he hasn't negotiated a packerrats account.

The best thing is to make your opponent sit in an undersized kiddie chair, then stand staring at them with one foot on your desk, arms folded, resting on your knee. Glare at them. Clear your throat a lot too.

Thank you for the advice given. I've spoken to the appropriate people and I've come to find out for certain that everything said will come into play soon. Useful info.

Depends who I wind up negotiating with. In certain limited circumstances, that could work out quite well.
