Police say a drunken woman twice choked her 11-year-old daughter on Sunday after becoming angered by the game.
The 36-year-old Grand Chute (http://content.usatoday.com/topics/topic/Grand+Chute) woman was charged Monday in Outagamie County Court with felony child abuse and misdemeanor counts of bail jumping and disorderly conduct.
Police were called about 8:15 p.m. Sunday to a Grand Chute hotel where the girl told police her mother grabbed her by the neck during the football game. The woman was drinking alcohol and became upset because the team was losing. The girl said that after the Packers lost, her mother choked her again with enough force that the girl couldn't breathe, and her mother said, "Do you want to die?" the criminal complaint says.
Police saw red marks and scratches on the girl's neck.

The Post-Crescent is not naming the woman to protect the identity of the child.
The woman's husband told police she also threw her dinner on the floor, broke a lamp and attempted to punch him in the face because she was upset about the game, which marked the Packers' first loss in 14 games this season.
The child abuse charge carries a maximum sentence of 12½ years of imprisonment and $25,000 in fines. The woman could face up to nine months in jail if convicted of bail jumping and 90 days on the disorderly conduct count. She is being held in jail on a $2,500 cash bond.

This is the part that leaves me speechless. It's TWO FOLD. 1st, that the bail is that low, and 2nd, that SHE IS STILL IN JAIL.... lol

If the husband was there, why was this allowed to happen twice? Or was he not there when it happened, and was called by the girl to come to the hotel? Something about this story doesn't add up.

Wouldn't that mean they'd have to give a bondsman $250 for him to post. Either they don't have $250 or no bondsman has faith that she will show up to court.

I guess so. fortunately I have no idea what a bond costs. But it says a lot about this situation. $250 is too much for a bond, OR the family doesn't want her out. The state doesn't want her either, so for $250 they're willing to let her go.

What a mess. I guess that's how you end up living in a hotel. I've had it bad, a couple of times in my life, but I can't relate to this. I also can't imagine what it would take for me to choke one of my children.

I'm sure that the solution is more government welfare and more understanding. I just don't have it in me today.

Mine have done some stuff in their lives where I wanted to choke the life out of 'em! Hahaha.

If the mother had tried to choke her daughter because she thought the daughter was sending state secrets to aliens this would not be newsworthy. Packers blow their perfect season, state secrets sent to aliens, same thing: the only thing that matters is that a mother is out of her mind.
