Mike Sherman just named OC for the Buccaneers by HC Joe Philbin.

Guess we won't get quite as raided as we all thought, eh?

OC is probably a good job for the old PSL.

I love KY and was just pullin' his chain. He messed up with the team, but I think he has the rest correct. I'll throw ya a bone, KY.

I don't know if we can pick #8 for Flynn but with Sherman there we might be able to get a 2nd and 3rd for our punter.

It's incredible how much better Masthay is than BJ Sander.

Dolphins. Not Bucs.

Yes I think so and that's why I'm wondering about where Sherman landed. I was thinking Buc's as a possible HC.

I actually like the hiring of M2 to be Philbin's OC. I'm actually quite curious to see what the Dolphin offense will look like.

Philbin needs to call the plays on any 4th and 1 situations.

He should probably call all the plays.

I'm not sure I'd give up Masthay for a 2nd and a 3rd.

Philbin isn't calling the plays, but he'll certainly decide whether or not to go for it on 4th down...

The 'Phins are off to a good start with their HC,OC, and DC selections.

They already have a better than average Defense and a 1,000 yard rusher and receiver. Add Flynn to the mix and they could finish 2nd in the AFC East with a 10+ win season.

I think this is a good fit for ol' Shermy. He's a decent coach but not so hot a GM or HC.

I've taken to Flynn with the minimal stuff I've had access to from/about him. I hope he has a long and great career and gets his ass kicked thoroughly everytime he faces the Packers.

Good for Shermy. I always liked him and loved him sticking up to Sapp. With the Dolphins becoming the Packers of the AFC, I can pull for them against the Pats and Jets.

It was great that he he stuck up for Cliffy, but his cap skills lacked a lot. His reported leadership style was very different that what I like. I wish him well, unless it hurts "my"team.

Congrats to Sherman. No doubt he will have their offense tuned up. Reggie Bush is gonna make a killing on screen plays.

Tarlam, seriously you are sad. Cant you congratulate the man? I figured a worldly gentleman such as you wouldnt resent success. If a coach getting into the face of sapp's bitch ass for a cheapshot isnt the kind of leadership you can have a lil respect for well I dont know what to tell you.

This rebuttle of what I articulated is laughable and extremely telling. I am sad? Look in the mirror.

Did I hurt the baby's feelings? Only he can run around and hit people? OK then. Just figured you as a classy guy who could move past shit and say congrats to another man.

We get every Dolphin (and Tampa) game here in southwest FL so it will be interesting to see how this team does this coming season.

That would be tough on me, Pug.

Evidently, I can't tell those two teams apart. (See 1st post in thread)

Does the hiring of Sherman suggest Philbin was never enthusiastic with the idea of going zone blocking, and would have preferred to stay with Sherman's power gap system?

Both coordinators are people he worked with and was friends with before. I think familiarity had more to do with it than scheme.

Kind of wild that Sherman was Philbin's high school English teacher at one point. Yeah, I'd say they know each other well.
