I am traveling there with my 8 year old girl. She loves horses so we are going to a rodeo, but what else is there to do for a dad and his 8 year old girl? Anyone have suggestions?

I haven't been there, but their riverwalk is supposed to be nice, especially at night. Lots of lights and water and food.

Best thing to do in San Antonio is drive north to Austin.

Well for the love of fuck dude, I lived there for six years, but that doesn't mean I know where to score pot. Now if you need directions to the hippo pool at Busch Gardens, that's another story.

everything is safe in TX. you can openly carry a firearm. According to Ron White, they have a drive thru lane for the electric chair. no criminals in TX! they kill 'em off

It was an awesome trip! Short but free! Riverwalk was amazing, far better than expected and I highly recommend it . Seaworld was closed so we went to the Zoo. It was one of the best Zoo's I've been to, the only one close is Calgary, but way more animals in San Antonio. The Alamo turned into a school style trip as my daughter's teacher made her do a report about it since she missed three days of school.

For what its worth we stayed at the JW Marriot and if you go to San Antonio it is a great hotel!

Thanks for the advice Rats!

I was there on business a few times years ago. That riverwalk was pretty lame and people were treating pigeons like cute little pets. I was kicking them like we all do in Chicago.

We ate lunch at the lone star cafe over looking the river (My 8 yr old ordered steak for lunch, ive taught her well) and the pidgeons kept coming towards us. I called them sky rats and she laughed. Then she wondered if we could set traps for them to kill them!
