First up is a scout who hopes Poe falls to his team later in the first round. Poe claims, prior to the Combine that he was a 2nd round pick who could move into the first. (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/12/24/dontari-poe-robert-turbin-declare-for-nfl-draft/)

“He’ll be overdrafted,” one personnel man told the Times of Trenton. “He did all of that at the Combine, so some team will take him way higher than he should go. I mean watch him play, just watch. He didn’t do anything. And he wasn’t playing at a very high level, either. All I know is he had one sack last year and it came against Austin Peay. You probably didn’t even know Austin Peay had a football team.”

This sort of prognostication makes my head ache.

I don't think Poe was on anyone's radar until the Combine. Now, even Mayock has him rated as the # 2 DT. I don't know about this guy.

Won't have to worry about Ted going after this guy.

I'm a Jared Crick fan. He looks explosive as hell in his youtube highlights. Plays very fast for his size. I like 280 pound guys who have back to back 9.5 sack college seasons. Injury knocked him out of the 2011 season. I don't imagine he'll last as long as the draft sites have him. He's showing as a late 2nd round pick. I think he looks like a 1st round pick.

Does TT have the stomach to take another DE who missed most of his senior year due to an injury? At any rate, he looks like a 2nd rounder to me. To me he looks more relentless than explosive. Good player who I wouldn't mind TT taking if he's available when Packers draft in the 2nd.

Crick is a late 2nd round pick at best.

At 280 isn't he Wynn sized? He is 6' 4" according to http://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?f=Jared&l=Crick&i=9906

Poe is very overrated, but I think this draft is deep at DT, TT will probably look at a Jenkins type player, who can play both DT/DE.

DE, Jared Crick's injury doesn't impact draft status, size does

By Chad Reuter (http://www.cbssports.com/columns/writers/reuter) | NFLDraftScout.com Senior Analyst

Fr. story:

"The bigger question for Crick: Where does he fit on an NFL defense? ...

... At ** 6-foot-4 , 285 pounds, he will be considered too small to play inside for teams using four-man fronts. He played a lot of snaps at defensive end outside of Ohio State right tackle J.B. Shugarts on Oct. 10. However, some teams utilizing larger ends (the Tennessee Titans (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/page/TEN/tennessee-titans) come to mind) might consider him a starter in their system.

Teams using more three-man fronts will consider him a solid five-technique defensive end prospect, especially if he has a breakout testing day like Wisconsin underclassman J.J. Watt (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1631198/jj-watt) did at last year's workout in Indianapolis.

Even if he shows slightly less agility and speed than Watt did in his elite performance for a 6-foot-5, 290-pound lineman, scouts and defensive coordinators will forget about Crick's surgery and work to convince management to consider him in the first round." All from STORY

Get some pop corn !

Here's your fill of #74 NT Dontari Poe... What do you see in this video that would make you wish for Dontari Poe?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0IaNI-3sw4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0IaNI-3sw4) Video length 22:51

No p o p c o r n : Then maybe try this:

Maylock's TOP Five DT's and at #3 he has installed Dontari POE and behind #1 M. BROCKERS and #2 J. WORTHY. At the #4 and 5 slots he has Devon STILL and Fletcher COX.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmrTyakPvLo Video length= 2:23

He's a Big 'HARD' Boy at 6'-5" - **350 lbs. He's tested fast and extremely strong. He moves good laterally. To get a true comparison i need to take some time here and I'm concentrating on pass rushing talent that may be available to ted thompson in the draft. Some realistic possibilities and maybe TT will love this guy.

** Depeded on the story his weight changes a tad.

a) What are his weakness's now RE: Scouting reports?

b) Isn't he raw?

c) Will he transition to the NFL?

From what I've learned. It appears that he'll need some technique work at the NFL level.
