They didn't mess with the Packers jersey, it seems, too much. The Seahawks will look like a completely different team, though (not that that matters).

Personally I love the Seahawks uni's. Not sure about the helmet, but like the jerseys. Matt Flynn is gonna look whiter than ever in those babies...

Since when does Nike make NFL unis? The official unis have always been made by Reebok with Riddel helmets.

Courtesty of Darren Rovell's Twitter, which at this point is itself a sentient being. https://twitter.com/#!/darrenrovell/status/187205352020910080

My aunt works for Ripon Athletic in my home town of Berlin, they make 27 of the 32 NFL team jerseys (yup, here in wisconsin). She told me they have "other" designs on the table for most all ball clubs, but she hasn't seen them, and only the bosses are allowed to.

I thought it was Wolf wanting to go iridescent.

I actually do like that green and true gold right there... maybe a little tweak to make it not so notre damey and use it once a year.

Kinda cool site for uni-curious:

http://www.gridironuniforms.com/weekly/2011/2011cc.html

Gotta' say that I liked the 2002 Seattle Unis a lot but preferred the original 1976 uni; the new uni does nothing for me. The helmet is pretty lame. The simple osprey head using the Tlingit (?) style was super strong on it's own. Adding all the rest of that crap distracts from the austere elegance of the tribal art.

Yes, it was Wolf. Scroll down to 1994 for a drawing of proposed changes. In the end the idea was tabled.

That link led me to a picture of the (in)famous 1927 'jockey' jersey!

Enjoy!

That Ron Wolf #4 suggsted Uni will sure SUCK around here.

I don't like it.

It reminds me of how a man might look.... just home from crawling through some swamp.... for a few days.

The new Uni....looks fine.

first off, Nike doesn't have the authority to just change the jersey, that is a team approved move. The Seahawks wanted to make some changes and did. Nike can change the fabric, and possibly the fit of the jersey but not the color, or pattern of the jersey.

Nike won the contract from the NFL. Reebok was the first company to hold the contract for all 32 NFL teams when the NFL decided to band together on an official manufacturer of offical nfl appearel, before that individual teams sold their contracts to whatever manufacturer they wanted, Nike, Starter, Reebok, Puma.

I think the neon green in those Seattle uni's is awful. What are those dots in the numbers, reflectors?

I think they're going to go down in history as one of the worst, on the scale of the Vancouver Canucks 'killer vees'

Some other companies you wouldn't expect got in on that act - Wilson and Adidas are a couple of the bigger ones, but some smaller players as well. Logo Athlethic and the 'shark tooth' cap, Russel, Apex and Champion.

http://www.uni-watch.com/ is a great way to burn a few hours reading about all sorts of team uniforms.

I'd love to see some franchise break out some alternative jersey similar to the old Orlando Thunder. These were sweet!

Got that from Pugger's link above. They should've done something with the helmet though!

The Seahawks have lost their minds. Then again, they're coached by Pete Carroll.

That article is clueless. The Creamsicles are great as are the vertical stripes on the Broncos socks. The rest of the colors on the Broncos throwbacks could be better. There is nothing wrong with brown pants. All jerseys would be better as tear aways.
