1st is high, but we may be late in round 2 if we don't take a guy in round 1.

But, I like this guy.

Pure pass rusher who is still learning, which I like.

I honestly don't think he's much better than Lattimore, who we didn't even have to draft. Irvin is a guy who didn't even start in college, I'm not sure he's ever going to win a starting spot in the NFL. At best he's a pass rush specialist who does nothing but pin his ears back and go after the QB, and he might be decent on STs. Day 3 pick IMO.

He's also really unlikely to be deemed "Packer people."

Irvin served time in a juvenile detention center for destruction of property and was ineligible for high school football. He then got his GED, was a walk-on at a junior college and ended up at WV. TT never drafts guys who are character risks in the early rounds. The question I have is would TT consider him a character risk because of his high school experience? Or would TT see him as a strong character guy because of the way he's moved his career in a positive direction since then? I'm guessing the latter.

He's bad ass on the field. Fast, strong, speed on the edge, great bull rush, great inside move, closes fast, finishes with nasty, adjusts well when the QB tries to escape he still finds a way to make a play he shouldn't be able to make. When he disengages and puts the peddle down, he's going 100mph right now. I'd like to see him run some stunts. He's a fuckin beast. I love guys who, when they finish a sack, injure the poor mother fucker on the receiving end. This guy is mean. If he's a 2nd round pick, he'd be a steal.

Hell, he'd be worth the full 2nd round pick if he played on 3rd down only. He has a little Clay Matthews in him as a pass rusher.

One thing I like about him is he never quits on a play. Makes tackles from behind against unsuspecting ballcarriers, sometimes causing fumbles. I'd be okay with him in the 2nd round.

By the way, Irvin had the best time at the Combine in the "Cone" among OLB prospects, and it wasn't even close. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2012/OLB

He is the only draft prospect that I know of who has gotten arrested in the last month. That probably means that he's still got the character red on everybody's board.

Oops! I guess I read that wrong. That is really bad timing for a guy trying to escape a rough past. Hard to predict how this will affect him.

The recent arrest means that the Lions will trade up to get him.

If he gets busted for pot, he's a lock for a 1st rounder from them.

This man will NOT be a Green Bay Packer this month. I will not provide all the reasons I feel this way.It simply will not happen. I'll submit this from sources I gleened:

Bruce Irvin is a raw prospect with demonstrated ability as a pass-rusher. He's scouted a one dimension rush specialist that lacks versatility, as not close to being ready to drop into coverage..

In his final two seasons, Irvin recorded 22 sacks and forced five fumbles and that's it ! He's also a hybrid defensive end/linebacker. Irvin helped out with 61 tackles and if he didn't SACK the QB he didn't make any tackles for loss in 2010. Check out his number of tackles for loss last season. Because we run a 3-4 'D' he might fit and develop in time.

IMO....Bruce Irvin will have to fall to the very late rounds before TT would consider him.

Irvin has demonstrated an ability to overcome a tumultuous background but recent bad reports on him don't have him out of the woods. TT would have had to certainly be provided with an interview or some scrutiny of this prospect that would recommend Bruce Irvin.

As a First round pick at OUR #28 spot.

Sorry for his fans here but IMO .... NO!

They will have to get ahead of the Bengals to pull it off.

Nah, they will take the CB Jenkins first.

And I agree with freak, time to get a bad ass. Imagine Ray Lewis, does he say I killed someone while he's on the field?

I don't think Jimmy Johns has ever forgotten the mayo. Have you had one? They're practically swimming in mayonnaise. Even if you ask for no mayo, somehow it gets on the sandwich.

Maybe it was too much 'black pepper'. Once that stuff gets a fella to sneezin'. Anything might happen.

This is from Wayne's blog:

The bears be whinin' and cryin' all week about how they been disrespected by the media and shit. You know why you little bitches be gettin' disrespected? 'Cause y'all suck, that's why. "But we won the division and we're playing at home. We should be favored." FUCK YOU!!!! Dan Hampton be cryin' his bitch ass off on TV this week about how big the line was. Green Bay be favored by 3.5 points. Dan said he would only give the Packers 1, maybe 1.5 points. Well fuck you, Dan. Your team fuckin' sucks. That's why Vegas don't like them.

Soldier Field is a piece of garbage. That field sucks. They won't put in a decent playing surface because they want to host soccer games. SOCCER GAMES????!!!!! Soccer fuckin' sucks. That shit be boring as hell. Who the fuck wants to watch that shit? Chicagoans, that's who. Boring, stupid motherfuckers. Fuck them. That field sucks ass. And the stadium is ugly as my balls, too.

Chicago fans burning Cutler jerseys earlier tonight.
Jay Cutler supposed to be good now? When the fuck did that shit happen? That dopey motherfucker always sucks. Now they think he's good on ESPN and shit. Fuck that. Did you see how he quit out there today? Who does that? Who leaves a championship game like that and abandon his teammates? I'll be real interested in what the MRI says about his knee. Better take an MRI of his heart. Know what they'd find? He don't fuckin' have one, that's what. That dopey motherfucker ain't got no heart. Best thing about that is they got his diabetic ass locked up in a long-term contract. He'll be pussin' it out for years in Chicago. Stupid.

This is another good reason why I love coming on to this forum. I had no idea that Irvin had a bad history, nor did I know he was just arrested a couple weeks ago.

The kid has obvious talent, but this team doesn't need another problem child. If he's there in the 4th...take him, no sooner, imo.
