...will be released Tuesday night (4-17). Any preference on who we open up against? I'd like to get the Lions or Bears so we can make a statement in our division right off.

Fox Sports' Chris Myers tweeted we will play our home opener against SF but I don't know the date or time.

Sick of getting Dallas as a Gold package game year after year.

I would like to open in soldier field. I think it would be a tough start, but give our D the opportunity to show itself against an O that has a poor line. Build a little confidence (I hope).

At least one 3 game road trip on this schedule I think, plus another 3 game sequence with 2 road games with a bye week. Season ends on the road. Either Lions or Bears.

Doesn't Ten in second to last week break the intra-division matchups that Goodell promised to get good matchups late in season?

Good.

Three road games in a row? Really? Jaysus.

Between September 30th and December 2nd (63 days), the Packers will only have two home games. The middle of their schedule isn't kind in that regard. I guess it makes sense. The national draw on the front end and the Frozen Tundra on the back end.

That's a pretty brutal opening 2 weeks. The game plan for the Bears is going to have to go during camp. And with Captain Tice in charge of the offense and Cutler's former Denver guy in a QB coach/passing game coordinator, its going to be interesting.

I'm glad to get the thursday night game out of the way early. There's a smaller chance of fatigue injuries early in the season (assuming the preseason is conducted sensibly). Guys always seem to get hurt playing on Thursday after Sunday.

Saturday Night games are pretty much a thing of the past, but I think this is the first time all of the games have been on Thursday.

Last year was Saturday, Friday, Friday, Thursday.

What's with the Thursday game so early in the season? Aren't they for after Thanksgiving?

At least the Bears will be playing Sunday as well, so it's not like they will have an advantage of rest. Still don't like it though.

They got a lot of flack from the local high school scene for the Friday games. This year they were getting Twitter warnings, which I am sure had them shaking in their scheduling boots.

What's the 'marquee' game now, Monday or Sunday night?

A week 10 is a good time for the bye, nice time to get a break. Two tough games to start off the season, but they are at home, and having the Thursday game as well as the game before it at home is good.

I kinda like the sched.

Sunday Night is the Marquee game. Monday nights have been in steady decline since bspn took over from ABC.

I hate the schedule. I don't like the Sunday night games as have other things I usually do on Sunday Nights. Also the first half of the schedule is terrible. They start with a tough SF then a very short week for Chicago (always a fight, and I fucking hate NFLN games, because I don't get them). That is followed by an extra long week to a Monday night game at Seattle followed by a short week for NO, leading into 3 straight road games.

A fun schedule IMO. Love starting with SF and so do 49er fans out here in Cali. Best to get dabears out of the way before the weather gets bad. The three game road trip is not bad at all. Houston should be the only real challenge. Wouldnt be surprised at 5-0 start but after that lose to JAX to put all the undefeated talk to bead.

Packers 2012 schedule has plenty of flavor

The Green Bay Packers (http://www.packers.com/) open their 2012 season with two Home games.

Sun.Sept. 9th HOME Vs San Francisco 49ers.

Followed by a pair of Prime Time games,

Thursday, Sept. 13th 'HOME' Vs Chicago Bears.

On the road Mon. Sept. 24th Vs. Seattle Seahawks. Aaron Rodgers Vs Matt Flynn.

The Packers return home to host New Orleans (Sept. 30).

Then their on the road for three straight games Oct.7 - Colts, Sun. evening Oct 14 - Texans and Rams on Oct.14.

So the Packers open the first seven games of the 2012 season 'on the ROAD' including the last three games of this opening seven game set.

What's up with that three games straight on the road?

Then we have the Jag's and Card's at HOME before our BYE in Week 10.

Four of our last seven games after the BYE Week are again on the road; with five of those seven games Vs NFCN rivals.

GO PACKERS !

The only uncertainties I see on this schedule are the Giants, both Lions games and both Bears games. The rest look reasonably winnable. At worst, I think the Lions and Bears games will split and we lose to the Giants. At best, we lose one among those. So between 13-3 and 15-1.

We'll probably split the Bears and Loins games. When we play the Gmen it is in the middle of the season when they usually struggle. Our toughest game might be the first one but I think we'll win that one. Unfortunately we'll lose one game to a team we have no business losing to (see KC 2011). I think we'll end up 13-3 or 12-4. It will all depend upon if we can fix that defense of ours!
