M3 says Newhouse and Sherrod will battle for the starting LT job: http://espnmilwaukee.com/common/more.php?m=49&action=blog&r=40&post_id=7346

Yep.

Newhouse's floor was what we saw last year. His ceiling is yet to come.

Bulaga is a stud on the right side. MM said he thinks he's a borderline probowler or something like that. Sitton too. That right side is in good shape.

I am pulling for Sherrod. Would be ecstatic to have Newhouse as the prime backup for a few years.

All of a sudden McCarthy doesn't like flipping OL around anymore.

I dont care who wins the battle Sherrod or Newhouse...I just hope the loser could start for 20 teams in the NFL then we would be in great shape!

Sherrod should be able to win that job if healthy. It's fitting that he was drafted to replace Clifton, because he has many of Clifton's strong and weak points.

I hope Sherrod does take over for Newhouse as he would be one hell of a player. I then hope TT drafts Newhouse's replacement as he will be gone in FA in 2014. Last season he looked better than half of the starting LT's in the league.

Newhouse's floor was what we saw last year. His ceiling is yet to come.

Newhouse was 2nd year player, Sherrod a rookie with no offseason who was miscast at guard in preseason.

I say it's a jump ball as to which will be a good starter.

I would actually prefer that to rolling the QB left every boot/rollout play out of the pocket that Sherman and McCarthy both love to do once they discovered Favre and Rodgers could do it.

Wasn't that when Newhouse got all of his holding penalties last year (pretty much)?

Newhouse is healthy, therefor able to build strength in the offseason, therefor able to work on technique during the offseason, therefor far more likely to make strides IMO.

My money is on marshmellow.
