Comment woodbuck27:

MM promised us more focus on the PACKERS running game.

I hope that RB Marc Tyler is one of the 'up to four' undrafted FA'a signed.

His school record at S. California looks impressive; especially in terms of his average gain per carry. He might be that solid possession durable young RB we need. He's built strong at 5' - 11" and 226 lbs.

I'm not excited over RB's Alex Green and Brandon Saine. They look like book ends to me in terms of their performance since we signed them. I believe we need more at RB.

Ryan Grant? No more news on him. I'm just now looking at RB's that are FA's and might be options.

GO PACKERS !

I think you're confused.

There are four types of people who attend rookie camp:
-Draft picks.
-Undrafted Free Agents
-Rostered players without an accrued year (i.e. "practice squad guys from last year.")
-Tryout players

The first three groups either have contracts or are more or less guaranteed contracts. The last group is hoping to be offered a contract. Mark Tyler is an undrafted free agent, which is to say that he has a contract and has been paid his signing bonus.

Thanks. I 'was confused' because I was looking at our Roster this morning and counted 86 players before that post. He was on the list and wears my favourite number:

#27 Tyler, Marc (http://www.packers.com/team/roster/Marc-Tyler/979f45f9-4c5c-473d-9031-25d4fc3d2140) RB5-1122623R Southern California

GO PACKERS !

Given pick of teams, undrafted RB Marc Tyler goes with Packers.

GO PACKERS !

How much of Alex Green have we seen to make such a determination? He was in for barely a handful of plays before getting injured. Not a large enough sample size to project his future. I believe he needs to be given a chance to succeed before being written off.

I absolutely agree and 'no knock on Alex Green at all', but, we do not know. We need more young blood to push for the RB slots in TC.

GO PACKERS !

That's what I was thinking. Actually, from the little tiny bit we had seen of Green, he looked to be very good in the open field and catching screens.

I am excited about Alex Green. To me, when reading about Marc Tyler's very pedestrian speed, I don't see too much to get excited about. Now if his name was Wendell, and it was 1980-something, well, then I'd be excited to have the guy...

Fritz: I wish it wasn't so. Not much excites me about our RB situation. That position on our team redefines 'wide open'. I hope that changes before the end of TC.

GO PACK GO !

I like Green a lot... we'll just have to see how much the injury affects him. My hope was that Green would be our starter sooner rather than later.

I also like Saine... I know they like his receiving ability out of the backfield, and he's a dependable blocker.

I think Marc Tyler "has a shot". I "don"t know much", but I "feel good about him". Maybe he doesn"t "look the part", he"s not "svelte"... he"s not "sobby"... he doesn"t "fit the mold", he "doesn"t wipe properly"... but I guess the "powers that be" will "give him a shot" until he steps back and they"re sure John and Jane Doe can go back to enjoying the endless parade of running backs who don't "make people queasy".

Yup in Green Bay. It's all about acquiring that very very special running back. Look at all the awesome Packer running backs.

Well we had Elijah Pitts,Paul Hornung and Jim Taylor and then was it John Brockinton and Donnie Anderson and can we add Dorsey Levens ? for the short time he looked unstoppable. Edgar Bennett gave us a couple of decent seasons and stuck around for what...4-5 seasons.

Then we got really lucky with Ahman 'Batman' Green. Wern't we at least mildly pleased with Ted Thompson's acquisition of Ryan Grant?

Great ! In my 50 plus seasons as a Packer fan I count 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 ... a whole sum of nine RB's worth their salt.

CLAP....CLAP...CLAP. That's an average of almost two solid RB's per decade. Maybe some of you will reason that's very decent?

go packers ........................... and RB's !

If I missed anyone please add him !

RBs and PACKERS !? It just doesn't happen 'in a BIG WAY'..... alot.
