View Full Version : SPELLING ON JERSEY

All the sports programs are calling attention to the Nike ad showing a number 12 Packer jersey with the name Rogers claiming it is a mispelling of the MVP QB's name.

Could the jersey belong to the man pictured wearing it and the spelling actually be correct? I grew up watching all his movies, but didn't know Roy was a Packer fan.

So was the mistake using a Black dude?

No, the mistake was misspelling "Rodgers." Or if this model's name really is "Rogers," then the mistake was using a guy whose name so closely mirrored "Rodgers" and using Rodgers's #12 for the jersey. IF the model's name was actually "Smith" it wouldn't have been such a big deal.

I wonder if this is artwork only, or if the model was wearing an actual misprinted jersey. Since the ad has a "Shop Now" button, does Nike have 100,000 or so pre-printed "Rogers" jerseys?

Sorry Fritz, I didn't think my attempt at humor would be that difficult to understand. I won't quit my day job. Oh wait; ...... I'm retired.

I am not the only funny guy around here, but I'm not a "funny guy" in THAT way.

OS, I got the Roy Rogers joke, but decided to take your question seriously. I mean, what if they did use a person whose name was Rogers? Like, what if I got an Arizona Jersey and had "Fritz" put on the back with Larry Fitzgerald's number on it? Would people think I was dumb f-up for spelling "Fitz" wrong when actually I was spelling my own name?

Makes ya wonder!

IDK, but they'd probably think it was a dumb f-up for having Fritz wearing a Cardinal Jersey.

Holy Cow ! Now you've got them thinking. That may be strange territory bringing about a revolution of merited consequence.
