Quarless and Sherrod - no surprise, but Kuhn? Did he have surgery or something?

No surgery for Kuhn - he hurt the knee vs. Giants loss. Rest/Rehab.

Kuhn hurt his knee in the playoff loss and had been rehabbing it all offseason. Don't think he had surgery.

I think its pretty much a given that Quarless gets a redshirt year. What about Sherrod, is he expected to play?

They were hoping to have Sherrod ready for the start of training camp. I'm guessing this was a bit of a surprise.

M3 mentioned that Sherrod had a setback in the Spring sometime, so I'd bet this is less of a surprise to the staff that it is to the fans.

It's encouraging that TWill passed his physical - considering he played last year with essentially one arm... Hope he's 90+% by 9/9.

Sherrod is disappointing. I'd hate to see a Cliftonesque season of wait & see.

Sherrod not being ready doesn't surprise me one bit. I know some thought it an almost certainty he would be ready for camp, because it was "just a broken leg". One site I referred to months ago said for an average life style, normal activities can be resumed for most by 4-6 months after his type of injury, but for very active people it will take longer. For those, the site said it can take up to a year before normal activities can be resumed, even without significant complications.

Well, not only is Sherrod "active", he must support amazing forces with his legs as his 320 pound body "crashes" violently with another just as large or larger. On the positive side, he has top flight rehab facilities available to him to shorten the time frame.

I just hope he is ready for at least a part of TC. If not, he won't have much of a chance to develop.

If his shoulder is part of the pass/fail on the physical his passing is some of the best news this offseason!
I would have been suprised is Sherrod had passed. I hope he gets playing time this year, but won't hold my breath. The down side is you all have to hear me say Newhouse is better than you think for more of the season.
