Even better than the 96 team?

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/gnb/1996.htm

Thanks for the memories.

Man, you just knew that team was going to go all the way. The way they had been built and peaking over the years was really fun to watch.

This team will contend but I don't get the sense of Manifest Destiny that I did with the '96 Team.

I'm puzzled by his rehab. From McCarthy's presser, they seem to have him doing hurdles and practicing archery.

Don't question the man's methods. Wax on, wax off. Get on the bus and shoot skeet. Archery strengthens the mind, body and spirit.

If you can't beat the Clown, how will you beat Shooter?

I'm okay with that.

Nickel would seem to include Hawk, but unsure since a lot of starters were Scout team only today. But definitely McMillan in for departing lineman moving Wood to slot CB.

I love that that sentence makes no sense in any other context other than football.

Just in case the GBPG decides to rub me out, I sent an email to Vandermause and a Tweet to the main GBPG Twitter account asking if it was standard Press Gazette policy to Tweet photos of unsuspecting people in public to make fun of their clothes and haircut. Demovsky did that to some guy on the sideline today. What a schmuck.

I suppose its possible he was just teasing a friend, but it didn't seem like it.

Other actual football news, Zombo still watching practice which reporters interpret as Zombo not waived/injured.

Rodgers as scout team QB has a nice rapport with his new TEs Vic So'oto and Erik Walden.

I think I'll cancel that trip to practice I was planning. I'm an obvious target.

I find it ironic that a member of the print media feels comfortable commenting on others appearances. Rob must be quite the specimen.

Shields Wood Burnett McMillian Hayward Tramontana

And be just as happy. Maybe happier. But I'm not sure Hayward is ready yet. And who do you take out for House? I know most will say Shields, but I still like him on the sideline. A good problem to have.

Pictures from today's practice. Batteries were low or I would have more. Still some decent ones.

twitter rumor that James Jones is a trade target of mia.

Not a bad idea given that some teams need receivers like the jets, seahawks, etc.

I think the reporters make a little too much over who gets the first reps with the first team in the secondary. Watching the preseason games it pretty obvious that they are rotating guys every series. On Thursday it won't be any different, all the Shields, Hayward, Bush, McMillian, Levine, and Jennings are all going to be rotating in and out. I hope House gets to play too, probably not.

I don't know who I'd prefer over House or Shields until I see House play. At this point Shields isn't playing with enough confidence, but he's like a slot machine. He doesn't seem like a good idea, but then he can come up big.

Maybe we could give them Jones for Matt Moore...?

Exactly. The staff is giving SS every chance to win a roster spot which means more reps.

Makes sense given the Philbin connection.

Miami has been collecting picks and getting rid of malcontents. Acquiring Jones would be a change of pace, though they need someone.
