Want to see what Hayward does. Starting job is still out there.
Borel and Gurley need to make something happen if they want to make the team.
M.D. Jennings needs a good game or he might get pushed by McMillian.
Can Francois put pressure on Hawk?

I think Hawks job is pretty secure at this point, unless he completely shit bombs himself in preseason and Francois turns into Patrick Willis. I don't think the Packers will be thrilled if they have to go into the regular season with Francois and Smith as their starters.

RashanGary

I swear, the Packers have had this pussy camp and they're as injured as ever. When you really work out and get super strong, I wonder if it's good to wear those muscles down a little through strenuous work. When your muscles are that strong and wound that tight, you have to think it puts some strain on the body.

Anyone listening to radio? Bill Huber of Packer Report just blasted one of the talking microphones on the pregame for claiming DJ Smith is too "small" to play the run.

Said if the commentor who spoke had ever attended practice they would know Smith might be short, but by no means too small. Dying to know who he is calling our for mailing it in.

Is Gurley even suiting up tonight?

I think Gurley is the healthier of the two (Borel) and has made up some of the separation that Borel had created.

He's had time at times. It's not like his protection has been consistent.

I'm not saying he hasn't had a shitty game, but it looks to me like his big problem is that he is taking just a bit too long in his reads and losing his feet at times when under duress. Some of that has resulted in loopy-looking throws, sure, but those are things I feel will improve. His numbers are hurt some by gaffes on the part of his receivers.

So, my thoughts: Tackling issues keep popping up. Run Def not good. Harrell is not good and I think they need to cut their loses now and find a vet.

Wow. All the boys taking the night off on the sidelines better be ready to suit up next week. This isn't going to be a fun week in Packer camp. Two pathetic games in a row. Our reserves on offense are lackluster to say the least. The OL can't block, the QB can't throw, and the RB can't run. I guess the receivers made a few nice catches when the QB threw the ball within 5 yards of them.

It is one thing to not win in preseason...it is another to be embarrassed twice by subpar rosters.

jmbarnes101

What an ugly, ugly game. Thankfully it's preseason and hopefully our guys come out to play next week. Harrell is atrocious and I'd love to see us go out and get someone, anyone like McNabb, McCoy or some other backup that doesn't completely stink. Heck I think I'd feel better having Tarvaris Jackson as our backup and that's just insulting.

Adam Caplan Tweeted that Harrell was one of the two worst QBs he graded at his Senior Bowl. Had no sense of pocket or timing.

Datko has some raw skills but he is not ready for prime time. Can be bulled and taken apart on run plays or anything inside. Radio said Wells played LG after being at LT all week. Well, I know he rotated at LT with Taylor and Datko, but I suspect he saw some snaps at his more natural position, but the Packers do some odd things on the O line sometimes. I bet Thompson plays Datko a ransom to stay on the PS.

That said, Sherrod must be healthy or there is not a ready for primetime LT on the roster beside Newhouse.

MD Jennings went a long way toward losing any confidence I had in him. I would rather send McMillan out there to hit someone. Anyone.

If Jarret Bush could figure out how to locate a ball, he would be in the Hall of Fame already.

Twitter, including the writers, all believe the scuttlebutt that the Packers are both trying to get Harrell up to speed, but also hiding Coleman from the film.

CJ Wilson and Raji got rolled on run plays early. I would prefer Pickettt in the middle. Sometimes Raji doesn't give 100% on double teams and lets himself get turned.

Muir is going to stick and the Packers are going to need Hargrove and Neal before the season is out. Browns have a good O line at spots (not sure if entire unit is as effective as some individuals) but the Packers looked very shaky up front. Dezman Moses lost some luster as well being blind to what was going on around him. Walden will stick on 53 easily.

Because he's actually their backup once they dump Colt. He was Hasselbeck's backup in Seattle and has been in the league for ten years now. And he's got the athleticism to make up for bad line play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7gPOl_F8HQ

(P.S. That play was voted the #2 play of the year in college football that year. Second only to a crazy Hail Mary to win a game. And I saw that play live.)

Yes. Good observations.

I only saw the second part of the second quarter through most of the fourth when the Browns were just running out the clock.

Overall a sloppy and disappointing game.

On the bright side, the first team o-line looked very good. Provided AR time to scan the field. Green flashed some nice runs but needs to show consistency. Boykin and Williams looked good. Expect Williams to back-up Finley and play a lot. Boykin may edge out Borel and Gurley. Datko looked real good. Benson is really needed.

On the defensive side DJ played well. Nice blitzing and calling out the signals. Hawk is squaring up more rather than avoiding blockers.

IMO the McMillian, Ross and Richardson are the best back-up safeties.
