Yes, M3 will let Rodgers go deep on 3rd and 1 at least twice.

And yes, Capers will play some three man pass rush when its 3rd and 7 or longer.

PB, I hope you won't be carrying this thread all by your lonesome. I typically don't do the gameday thread, but Packerrats seems as deserted as a city that was just neutron-bombed.

Preemtive strike?

pbmax
10-07-2012, 11:41 AM
Its because the Captain hasn't obligatory'd yet. I think.

And usually the only bump we need is the Packers to do something unsuccessful and they come out in droves.

pbmax
10-07-2012, 11:42 AM
Preemtive strike?

Yes. I wish I had planned this earlier and I would have come up with some others.

Replacement ref Lance Easley was on CBS trying to defend his simultaneous catch call & offer excuses why he didn’t call OPI. Waste of time.

Benson 20-30 touches? Really Brian?

pittstang5
10-07-2012, 12:10 PM
Yep.

Kinda surprised they activated Neal. Usually the Packers are pretty conservative about bringing players back. He must have shown something in practice.

gbgary
10-07-2012, 12:34 PM
massive Packer presence in this building.

pbmax
10-07-2012, 12:34 PM
In a funny way, that play explains Harrel's fumble. That reverse handoff turn is designed to give the defense a bad read on the run game, because they can't count on the QB movement to tell them who gets the ball OR which way its going in.

The reason for that is the FB could get the ball on the first quarter of the turn. And score a TD!

denverYooper
10-07-2012, 12:35 PM
Haven't seen a GB back run like Benson does since Green back in the day.

denverYooper

AMEN, Brother, AMEN!

Sitton was awesome on the screen

That Seattle game may have made them re-imagine the offense a bit.

Sitton and Lang were both down there doing work.

pbmax
10-07-2012, 12:40 PM
I barely recognize Hawk from the back. ANd I think Freeney stunted and nearly took Rodgers for a ride with Lang who he was manhandling.

pittstang5
10-07-2012, 12:43 PM
ugh, another sideline run.

pittstang5
10-07-2012, 12:44 PM
shit Benson hurt!

pbmax
10-07-2012, 12:44 PM
They should put that block of Freeney by Lang on a loop for Newhouse. Lang was losing the entire time but held on and stayed with him. The simple fact that his body was between Freeney and Rodgers allowed that pass to be completed.

Benson just took a shot to the head.

Pack has this in hand. Vikes might be first in the North but they failed against these guys. Packers seem to be hitting their stride, at least somewhat.

Shields looks outstanding much of the time. If he becomes consistent, he's probably at least a Pro Bowler.

Colts picked a back shoulder throw. Throw was not wide and Jones backpedaled into the catch. Gave the CB an opening. Made the catch and got feet down. Was nice play.
