A thread for an excuse to put this bit on the board:
A few people have wondered (myself included) how Jerry Fontenot would fare as TE coach, primarily because he is moving over from a playing and coaching career on the O line. But also because of Jermichael Finley. This was especially true after Finley publicly explained that his new coach wouldn't be expecting Finley to bother with such mundane details as counting steps in his routes.
But Rodgers in his radio show today was asked about Fontenot's role with Finley, Wilde specifically wanted Rodgers take because Wilde apparently has been quite impressed by him.
Rodgers response was that he loved Fontenot and thought he was head coaching material. He has made that claim for Clements before, but for Fontenot to earn this level of support and be such a relative unknown was surprising to me.
