In case anyone has forgotten, Goode was an emergency signing in 2008 after J.J. Jansen tore up his knee in the last preseason game. The Packers had been very pleased with Jansen. A year later, being just as happy with Goode, Jansen was traded.

Jansen signed a new 4 year contract in February of this year. The details of his contract were reported as:

$500,000 signing bonus.
2012 - $615,000 in base salary
2013 - $715,000 base salary
2014 - $830,000 base salary
2015 - $845,000 base salary

Jansen's four year total $3,505,000

Goode's contract is reported to be a three year extension of his current two year extension. His payments include:

$300,000 bonus for the extension signed covering 2011 and 2012
$325,000 bonus now for the added 3 year extension
2012 - $700,000 base salary from the previous extension
2013 - $715,000 base salary
2014 - $730,000 base salary
2015 - $870,000 base salary

If you include in 2012 one-half of his previous bonus for the two year extension, Goode's four year total is 3,490,000.

No kidding, right? Long career making really good money. Low-profile position, no-one knows your face or name so the leeches stay away.

Ya, not bad pay for roughly 150 plays each year, punts+FGA+PAT.

Yup, and you'll never even get blamed if the laces aren't out!

Oakland proved how valuable a long snapper is earlier this year. Goode is worth it.

I wonder if he could ever be called on as an emergency lineman? Does he even need to prepare for this? If not, this is a great gig. I thought Doug Pederson had an enviable Packer career, but Goode is right up there!
