I wonder if he'll be invited back in 2013...?

A (roughly) 30 year old running back wih a lot of wear on the tires, beginning to break down physically? No thanks. Unless he's got an Ottis Anderson/Corey Dillon season left in him.

i don't think you just let him walk. at least offer him something and see if he still has anything left next training camp. if he does, keep him. if he doesn't, release him

theres no doubt he was head and shoulders better then any of the other running back on the team. for the brief time he played this year, he added a dimension that this team hasn't had in a long time

Johnny White had a concussion Sunday, so it's the Stark Plug and Notahman Green for Sunday, and maybe for the rest of the season it would seem.

Benson should have had the surgery as soon as possible. I suppose he did, but we didn't get the swelling report from the orthopod.

not if the Packers draft a HOF running back in the first round.

This is becoming a trend in the long line of "the injury didn't heal like we thought it would." Well, just who the hell is doing the thinking in Packerland, and why are they still employed?

i've been saying this for weeks. the training staff and team doctors need to go imo

every single injury on this team is taking longer then expected

I'm mostly serious when I say this, but we need a new trainer. How many times are our guys out longer than expected? Or some other symptom comes up well after the fact. I think Jennings and Finley (a couple of years ago) both had secondary injuries that were missed that ended up keeping them out longer than an initial injury. It seems to happen far too often for our guys.

As I recall, they said from the very beginning that he might need surgery, but that they would attempt to let it heal without surgery so he could possibly return. If he had the surgery immediately, he would have been out for the year automatically.

Top Doc for Packers got an award after 2010 season...

The Packers’ athletic training staff was honored by its peers with the NFL Athletic Training Staff of the Year award in 2011. It was the second time Burruss had won the award; the first came as a member of the Jets’ athletic training staff in 1985. Burruss’ Jets staff also was honored at the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) clinical symposium in 1994 by former Jets defensive lineman Dennis Byrd, who credited the team’s emergency care as a contributing factor in his miraculous recovery from quadriplegia. Byrd had suffered a fractured neck after an on-field collision in a 1992 game against Kansas City at the Meadowlands.

Just like a player, the Doc gets an award, then rests on his laurels.

I say fire his ass, as well as the asses of Campen, Slocum, and both Dave Redding and Kurt Schottenheimer, who are still to blame, I say.

LOL

People talk about this year and the parallels to 2010 -- I think next year the number and severity of injuries will revert back to the mean. This year it's been tough, but not as bad as 2010. With the exception of the OL, the roster depth has helped keep playoff hopes alive. If the OL can find its sea legs and CM3 comes back GB will be ok.

Defense will look better once CM3 is back. There's some reason to believe Moses + CM3 might lead to some good things down the road, too.

Moses is starting to come on a little. I'm interested to see how they do when CM3 gets back too.

Another interesting situation is DB when Woodson comes back. It looks like House and Williams are the starters with Hayward playing the nickle spot. Will they bring Woodson down to his usual nickle spot or will they leave him at safety in nickle with Hayward playing the nickle slot?

In dime, will they go with a safety or Shields?

There's a chance Shields doesn't even see the field when he comes back.

I doubt there are any RBs coming out that are worth a first. I heard Van Pelt has said he'd be all for Benson coming back in 2013 if his foot heals.
