View Full Version : Cut Mason Crosby Thread

What a horrible kicker he's turned out to be! I know some of you will make an argument for the 50+ yard fgs he's attempted...but he hit the upright on a chip shot! I'm not confident with him kicking a 30 yard fg. The Packers should go for it on every 4th down. If they don't bring some kickers in to compete this week...TT is blind.

Its in his head, I agree, we need to bring someone in. Althought I feel like one BIG kick will help with his confidence greatly. Can we wait for that? Thats the real question, because if we can some how make the playoffs with our o line and rodgers holding the ball to long, and our receivers not getting seperation; we wont have a chance in hell without a DECENT kicker, he needs to get his mind right or its time to move on.

Do we keep him now that he made one?

 I don't agree we need to cut him, but we DO need to exhaust all resources, I'm sure I wont get a response till after the game, but who is even available?

Why not just fire Slocum?

Yup...Crosby can make three more this game and I think he still needs to go. All we'll miss is his onside kicks.

He made another one.
Screw it, let's get rid of him.

I think you bring in a few Ks for a try-out this week. I don't know if I trust Crosby.

Brando must now begin a "cut Crosby" thread before every game for the rest of the season.

I really thought Crosby was going to be a fantastic kicker for years to come. Shows what I know. I don't think they get rid of him mid season. It'll be an after season thing.

Good idea, guys...I'll start a cut Crosby thread when we make the playoffs...maybe then he'll make that game winning kick to send us to the Super Bowl.
KY...I get the sarcasm, but shouldn't NFL kickers make the mother fuckin kicks he's been missing? And explain him kicking it out of bounds on the kick off. I'm sure you'll have some sarcastic cute little answer.

How about doubling that to two straight. He's 'on fire'.
We need a kicker.

This is a TT draft pick. He's not going anywhere. Besides..... do you know what a good head scratcher costs these days?

I know he made 3 kicks in this game, but I still think we audition kickers and/or sign someone.

What good is recovering the onside kick if you miss the 35 yard field goal to tie/win the game? ;)

Yeah, I'm freaked about our kicker, more about the Oline.
You can't cut everybody, sometimes you have to coach up what you have.
Also, fuck you, junior.
Yeah, I was kidding around, try to laugh it up sometimes.

Was a reality. Those last 2 kicks looked freakishly normal. Maybe the kid got his stroke back for now.

I think the kick out of bounds was more strategy than shank. Every game the Packers have been executing on high directional kicks towards the corner. It gives the returner less time and less room to run before the coverage gets downfield. Crosby had been executing perfectly on these kicks until the one out of bounds. It looked to me like he just pulled it a little bit. I mean, it went out at the 1 yard line. If it was 4 feet to the right it was an absolutely perfect kick. If we attempt directional kicking consistently we are going to have to deal with the occasional one out of bounds.

Rodgers has looked mediocre at times this year...cut his ass.
Kickers are pansies. That is why they kick. Crosby's career shows him to be an above average kicker in this league. You don't cut him because he's in a little slump, unless you are more of a mental midget than he is.

I'm going to advance the Tyler Durden theory on Crosby:
"Hitting bottom isn't a weekend retreat. It's not a goddamn seminar. Stop trying to control everything and just let go! LET GO! "
The 50+ miss, the doink on the short FG, the OB kick were Crosby Cratering. After that his mind was somehow liberated.

Finley is another potential Durden theory candidate.
