Fisher says Starr did not leave in an ambulance, but rather left in a private limo with his wife enroute to the airport. Fr: LINK

He should have left that venue for a hospital to get checked out fully.

"After a few minutes he was sitting up, talking, speaking well, speaking coherently," said WHEDA Spokesman Kevin Fischer, who was at the speech.

"The good news is that after Bart Starr fainted, he was sitting up a few minutes later and talking coherently," said Fischer.

Fisher says Starr did not leave in an ambulance, but rather left in a private limo with his wife enroute to the airport.

That man was and always will be nothing a classy, upstanding human being. Glad to hear he was doing better, but still would've wanted him to go to a doctor.

Don't worry boys.

Cherry Starr will make sure Bart gets the proper medical care.

I think I saw him play in person once during a pre-season game (did they call them exhibition games back then?) against the Rams. It was a hot sunny day, and Lambeau field was glorious in the sunshine. I suppose it was about 1970. I think Roman Gabriel was quarterbacking the Rams. Bart had been around a long time by 1970.

Bart was drafted in about the twentieth round a few years before I was even born, and I'm a freaking geezer.

I love the way the athletes from that era looked pretty much like our dads. Max, Ray, Fuzzy, Forrest...they all could have looked right at home wearing plaid shorts, sitting in lawn chairs in the old man's driveway drinking suds.

Geez, what does that make me, since I remember his entire career????? At least the years under Lombardi. There's not much to remember from his years with the Packers before Lombardi.

I remember his last few years with the Packers. By then he was, I think, fading, but dammit he was Bart Starr. I watched him throw some damn sweet touch passes to Boyd Dowler and Carroll Dale.

Could be. Though most of the people I were with said "Wow, Arkansas really? Good riddance."

Might come to rue those words in a couple years but few were as upset as Bart was. :)
