The #Packers and @RyanGrant25 have agreed to terms and the running back will sign with his old team this morning, per Grant.

Not sure what he's got left, but it makes sense. They need someone besides Green they can count on to know assignments. If nothing else, he should have fresh legs as he's been out for a while.

They don't follow the Packers very closely.

Is there a "Ryan Grant" circa 2007 on somebody's bench?

It's time for Grant to make the most of this opportunity.

Which chance is this for him?

Interesting - he couldn't stick with the Redskins earlier this year. I wonder what he's got. You can also count me as surprised they didn't work out (or at least, no one we heard about) any other guys. Tim Hightower comes to mind.

My guess is he got the nod due to familiarity with Rodgers and the system. He can catch the ball, and I seem to remember him being good in pass pro.

Travis Jervey rumored to be flying in, too.

Somewhere in southern Minnesota, Darrell Thompson's heart is beating fast.

I wonder why Hightower is still umemployed seeing he is 3 years younger than Grant. One thing Grant can do is pass block so we can use that skill big time.

of course

anyone else have a hangnail and need to go on IR?

maybe the reason that we didn't look or sign hightower is the fact that he sucks

Read this (possibly) for some insight on RB Tim Hightower ie 'his reconstructive knee surgery and recovery'. I'm trying to gleen more info. on that rehab and will post it as I may find it.

A big part of the Skins decision to cut Tim Hightower was the emergence of Rookie RB Alfred Morris.

MM said at his press conference that Ryan Grant finished his business upstairs and walked into "the gym" where the team was, and received a standing ovation. He said that shows you what the locker room thinks of Ryan Grant.

I did not think that MM would share such personal information. I hope somebody from the press asked Grant if everything came out all right.

Grant signing is cool and all, but I'd rather them sign a vet. o-lineman. Depth is thin and inexperienced.

Hey Ted...try to find a young capable RB this offseason. I've been hoping you'd do that, oh, for about 5 years now.

Yup. It's like climbing a mountain and looking up to see an overhang with 10,000 tons of snow and knowing a mere fart might bring it all down on you. It's like walking on the outside of an old building on a narrow ledge.

Ryan Grant gets standing ovation from Packers teammates

Posted Dec 5, 2012

Mike Spofford ... packers.com staff writer

DETROIT LIONS Week 14 @ Lambeau Field!!

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3252/ryan-grant

Packers RBs coach Alex Van Pelt confirms that Ryan Grant will have only a minor role if active versus the Lions on Sunday.

"You have to play football to be in football shape, obviously," Van Pelt said. "So we're obviously not going to throw (Grant) out there this week and expect him to carry the load or anything like that. It'll be some spot duty this week and as he gets stronger and into football shape, he'll have more of a role."

Alex Green will handle the bulk of the carries in Week 14..... Dec 6 - 6:11 PM
