Pretty funny.
Man, some of these guys seem like they played for Curly Lambeau.
Chillar, Colledge, Barnette?
Shit, I miss Nick Collins. Sumbitch was built like a coke machine.

Capers was using Nick perfectly and we had a tandem that would last for years.
Gone in the blink of an eye.
I've watched the "lick that ended Nick" dozens of times. It just seemed like a normal hit

How about the play the took Sterling Sharpe out of the league? I watched what they show of that play on You Tube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC0YdP3lW_M
Notice at the end of this clip, the Falcons WR that comes over to S. Sharpe as he gets up off the field to go to the sidelines. That same WR who played a key role in our third Super Bowl win.
I've had a mentle picture of the play that I thought took S. Sharpe out. I didn't recall it that way. I thought it was on a pass play (Favre to S. Sharpe) down the RH sideline and Sterling Sharpe flipping over a defender (team?).
Can anyone verify that?
when i saw collins take that hit, then saw him stay down, i right away knew things were bad. i saw it regular speed that the neck just got squished right down.
it looked minor and innocent until you watch the neck

look at the respect that the man gets from the other team

it was really horrible irony that the guy always wore that strap connecting his helmet to his pads to prevent a neck injury, then his career gets cut short by one

Yes. He was surrounded by concerned Falcon players and where were his teammates?
That straight arm by thwe Atlanta Falcons #20 Edwards looked so innoscent.

Verify?
Not exactly.
My buddy remembered this in an argument he had with another rabid Pack fan last season. The Falcon game was NOT Sharpe's last game for the Pack. He played one more game against the Bucs. SS scored 3 TD's, too. He took a lick in the Buc game, & was helped from the field once more. A subsequent exam showed he needed neck fusion and he retired that winter, unable to play in either play-off game.
He was still physically strong, but one hit from paralysis, so that was it for him.

Best tackler we've had in the last decade or so, covered the deep middle as good as anyone in the league for 3 years or more and was a beast with the ball in his hands. MM said the media never talked enough about how much NC meant to our defense when he went down.

What is something is whenever Sterling talks about the Pack on the NFL Network he always says "my Green Bay Packers".

I get sad whenever I think about Collins and how his career was cut short in his prime. We are still trying to replace him!
