Cutler can be a greasy little fella. But he's a little banged up, like many other Bears players. That, with some fresh Clay is potentially a recipe for Green Bay success. Forte and Marshall will both need to have big days for Chicago's offense to roll.

On the other side of the ball, the Bears D has been getting more and more banged up. Jennings, Tillman, Urlacher, Melton are all at reduced capacity or out. Peppers is said to be battling plantar fasciitis and has not been as effective. The stats across the board for them are down, including the most important stat -- wins.

And then Robbie Gould, their ace kicker. A huge blow. The man has been the standard for kickers who dwell in less-than-ideal kicking environs.

The Packers are finally on a bit of an upswing health-wise, while the Bears are on a downswing. It should pay off on Sunday.

Nothing like getting an early start to this big day, huh?

I see this as the Bears last stand. They lose this, they not only lose the division, but slide off the playoff table altogether. They will pull out all the stops to beat the Pack today. Trick plays, the whole kitchen sink.

We keep falling behind early, we could be in trouble. But I don't see that happening.

It will be a long hard slog even with their D not having Urlacher and not having Gould.

My prediction: Packers 27, Bears 13. We can then play for just positioning instead of scrambling to get into the tournament.

Don't count your bear cubs before they attack. Packers chance of a win I put at about 80-85%; but it's Packers-Bears and anything can happen.

People need to keep in mind that Cutler's INT-filled meltdowns have mostly come at Lambeau. He usually plays somewhat respectably at Chicago. Expect him to throw a Couple TD passes, and a couple INT's.

Hey Joe,

Maybe the soft grab of Lambeau turf is unfamiliar to cleats that play 10 games a year on the sand, gravel, broken glass, pull tabs, bottle tops, band aids and zombie fescue that congeal in the solvent smell of bright green paint to make up the pride of the Chicago Park District, Soldier Field.

btw--in your avatar pic it looks like Clay is looking up Cutler's skirt. Not polite.

Bears 21, Packers 17.

This Packer team has not shown any inclination to make things easier on themselves, and that will continue today with lackluster performances through out. The Bears are a prideful team and in Soldier Field will fight to save their season.

Zombie fescue. Can you pick that up at Jung's?

Energetic (cause they're youthful!) Bear's defense holds the fort down for the first half +. Then gets ground down 31-24.

Not only that but Clay appears to be sniffing Jay's brown doughnut.

In a "Time to make the doughnuts" special, 24-21, Pack, on a last second Crosby Field Goal.

The Bears are going to be on the receiving end of a Mongol like invasion from our front 7. Cutler is not going to make it through the game. 42-3 Pack, 300 and 3 TDs for AR and combined 150 and 2tds from the running game.

Visigoth's got there first, didn't they?

Actually, now that I re-read Tony's post, I forgot he mentioned Mongols and not Barbarians or Goths. Got my invading marauders confused.

back on topic, Tweet Silverstein has the following news:

Patler is a genius, Sitton playing, Lang at Guard, and Barclay at RT.

Given the time, that is probably from the lineup sheet they put out before the game in the press box. Its official, but does not reflect decisions made after warmups. So it could change.

Another desperate team - another loss for the Pack. Bears always play the Packers 150% better than anyone else. Going into enemy territory - this is gonna be a rough game for the Pack.

Peppers will line up against Barclay - alot - and destroy him. Rogers will be running for his life. Packers will be down early and McCarthy will abandon the running game. Offense will never get on track today. Defense - will do nothing and give up typical 3rd and long completions that we have seen all year. We're screwed today Pack fans.

Packers 10 , Bears 30. Game over

Lori Nickel ‏@LoriNickel
#Packers coach Mike Trgovac on Mike Neal: We’ll have to find out how Mike’s shoulder is on tough base blocks on first and second down…

Lori Nickel ‏@LoriNickel
Can’t simulate that in practice. He’ll let me know. I think he will be fine on rushing the passer but he will be honest with me on game day.

Also, in warmups 1 v 1, Sitton at RG and Lang at LG. So they passed first part of warmup OK. If they get through this, we get the Patler alignment.

yeah. one pass. He can't be perfect every time. However if Finley didn't drop so many passes and have his head up his ass so often, maybe he'd be able to open up the middle a bit more and put some pressure on the safeties. Finely played himself out of offense, and hasn't done much to work his way back into it. That says something considering they need him to just that.

you can hold the ball 5 seconds and expect to not get sacked. dump it off or throw it away.

No way. Five seconds is death. More like 3.

ThunderDan
12-16-2012, 12:35 PM
yeah.

Finley has played well the last 3 weeks. I was hoping that would open more opportunities for him but ARod is still looking elsewhere.

that underscores a couple problems.

1. Rodgers has to get rid of it or scramble

2. why does this happen so often?? why can't our guys get open even vs lesser DB's?
