Like him or hate him, this was an outstanding documentary on Hoody Genius

Hoody showed up at that interview with Cleveland a binder of information.....shortly after he was the DC of the SB win with the Giants.......the game plan for success in the NFL...containing specifics such as how many players you would carry on your team in each age range.....etc.........

Did you know .........of that Cleveland staff he worked with

Nine of them turned out to be NFL GM's or Head Coaches.....Three Colleage Coaches

Scott Pioli..Mike Lombardi...im Schwartz, Nick Saban, Mangini, Tannebaum, Phil Savage, Thomas Dimitroffetc.....Ozzie Newsome....Kirk Ferenz
all young guys who were paid around 14G per year......lived in crappy areas.....didn't have cable....and all contributed grunt work. All overworked and underpaid.

In 94 they won 11 and beat the Pats in the playoffs
In 95 when Modell announced the Browns were moving.....it all fell apart
Hoody was very unappy with this and felt it was all unfair to the team.

The 1st place Browns took the field forty eight hours after Art made the announcement

Several mentioned it sucked the wind out of them.

Than all hell broke news in Cleveland..
.lighting up jerseys...booing on the field....
BB receied debt threats and bomb threats
Life sized dummies of BB and Modell being hung
And the owner hid himself in Baltimore while all of this was going down

Signs like "The Drive" "The Fumble" "The Betrayal" were everywhere

In the final game in Cleveland...fans throwing bleachers over onto the field....teams having to change sides so the opposition did not have to drive into the dog pound....

Hoody Genius was let go but several of his assistants went along with the Betrayal. And worst of all, Ozzie Newsome, the center of the Browns, left for the Ravens.

Ozzie Newsome...the debate....of Lawrence Phillips or Jonathon Ogden....noted how Art Modell wanted Phillips...but the one thing he learned form Hoody was take BPA over your need. So he went against the owner and drafted Jonathan Ogden, and then Ray Lewis. The whole approach was Hoody Geniuses and Ozzie notes he owed a lot to BB for his title.

Just FIVE years after Art Modell bailed out on Cleveland the Ravens won a SB....so unfair

THE CLEVELAND PRESS.........kept commenting on how BB was on his way to do exactly in Cleveland what he did in NE

Great Documentary and a Must See

The series is called "A Football Life" and ESPN runs them; they are outstanding

They've had hour specials on Coughlin, Cleveleland, Al Davis and the Raiders, Dorsett, Tebow, and others.

If you can DVR them I'd go find them and just record the series as they often replay
