Me too, except I'm not 100% sold on New York and I am very undecided on the NFC North at this point.

Some tough calls. Why I went as I did?

As we have seen before the Bears up for one season and then they fall down. Who is their QB? Their RB?

Why Packers?

** Brett Favre is the best QB in the NFCN.

I'm counting on Ahman Green, Donald Driver looks great, Greg Jennings is ready to start, and Bubba Franks.... ALL want to erase last season.

OUR HC and his people will motivate the OL, Bring others to the level they can be at. Mike mcCarthy is a tough minded coach and I believe that's what we need and that the OL will get the ZBS (to us) faster than we imagined. Ted seems to be making very decisive and in my view solid moves to date in TC.he's surprising me.Good surprising!!

We must defeat the Bears in game #1.

I believe that Ted Thompson will support Mike McCarthy with the Best 53 Man Roster as what else makes sense? Weakening the team to win a better draft pick would be a stupid and an obvious shoot himself in the foot blunder on TT's part. That won't happen .That would be stupid.

Favre said it - as C.Woodson said it - the talent is in OUR TC. I'm really seeing it, but many questions to be answered in the preseason games remaining.

These are exciting times to be a Packer fan. It has to all fallin but I predict enough will for us to return as NFC North Champs.

Also we are much better on paper on the defense. Big time there.

I pray that the Angels of Adversity are kinder to us in 2006.

I'm seeing that Favre and Mike McCarthy are on the same page. Favre is running out of time and we are going to be happy, Packer fans.

** Same goes with "the Eagles " and Donovan McNabb in the NFC East. He's a solid QB and their "D" is better this season. They don't need T.O. as long as their QB is healthy.

** Miami in the AFC South is on the rise, and if Cullpepper is ready/stays that way - he's money, on a team knockin' on the door. Tampa will be good but allMiami needed was a solid leader at QB.That man has arrived and when he's healthy he's v.good.

**San Diego over Denver was a very tough call, but we saw that "D" and Philip Rivers is ready for prime time, and they have two other v.dangerous weapons in RB Ladainian Tomlinson, and TE Antonio Gates.

ALL that = "the Chargers" winning the AFC West over "the Broncos'.

I'm seeing a real show of trouble in Dallas. Not sure what's up with T.O.'s hamstring but he'll have a monster season because he's selfish but that's not enough for him to win there. Bledsoe!! Can Bledsoe sustain a questional OL? I don't believe so. Bill Parcells is beginning to fume and do more than pace.

There you go FavreChild. My calls for 2006.

BELIEVE IN YOUR PACKERS ! GOOD KARMA = GOOD STUFF !!!

ok, i have a question? why are so many people picking chicago? is it because of their defense? or, is it because they are the only team in the division WITHOUT a new head coach? i LIVE in the chicago area, and neither of those points impresses me enough to pick them to repeat....

HarveyWallbangers
08-22-2006, 04:20 PM
I picked Chicago because they do have an advantage retaining their coaching staff, and I can't see any good reason picking any of the other teams to make the playoffs. The only saving grace is that the division is pathetic, so there will be a team that gets fat on the division games. That could be any of the four teams, but it will most likely be Chicago.

fair enough, harv. i understand that completely. i guess you could say my nfc north pic is mostly based on having favre at qb, a healthy ahman green and a very good feeling about mike mccarthy's grasp of the west coast offense. throw in a ton of wishful thinking too. but, i just get that feeling that the pack are gonna surprise the entire league the way the rams did when the greatest show on turf burst onto the scene.

like i said, its just a feeling...

If TO and Glenn stay on the field, they could be very difficult to deal with and the combination of Barber and Jones is pretty good and sprinkle in Whitten and if they're line gives Bledsoe/Romo any time they will be hard to stop. I am absolutely in love with Demarcus Ware and I think he will be the DMVP and carry the Cowboys to a championship

Was just reading an article on NFL.com about the winners and losers of the NFC north. Of course we are picked to be dead last at 4-12, but check out this little excerpt, most notably, our "significant losses". Robert Thomas? Geez....where do these writers come from?

Significant additions: CB Charles Woodson; DT Ryan Pickett; S Marquand Manuel.

Significant losses: WR Javon Walker; LB Na'il Diggs; C Mike Flanagan; DT Grady Jackson; PK Ryan Longwell; LB Robert Thomas; RB Tony Fisher; QB Craig Nall; LB Paris Lenon.

Biggest offseason move: Signing Woodson. If he stays healthy, the Packers have one of the premier players at his position. I said, "If." He has missed parts of three of the past four seasons.

Will make the playoffs if: Ahman Green turns back the clock to 2003.

Won't make the playoffs if: The offensive line can't plug its leaks.

Rookie to watch: LB A.J. Hawk.

Overview: Brett Favre might wonder why he returned if new coach Mike McCarthy doesn't find him an offensive line that isn't cracked. There is nothing wrong with Favre, unless he's forced to run for his life. Protecting him with a line and a strong rushing attack is imperative.

Funny! Robert Thomas and Paris Lenon are significant losses, but Ben Taylor isn't a significant addition. Most teams get good because of their 2nd and 3rd year players--not rookies and not free agents. These teams often get overlooked too. That's why I think next year is the year we could get back in the playoff hunt.
