I think that was the last team to try to play man defense without significant help over the top on us. Boy, if Eddie Lacy and the crew can make defenses play us honest, Aaron could have one hell of a year. Those were some AMAZING passes and catches, but they're passes Aaron makes consistently and our receivers catch consistently when the outside isn't being bracketed down in and down out.

We have Eddie Lacy as a rookie.

We also have Johnathan Franklin from UCLA as a rookie. Aren't we establishing a wee bit of an 'old home club' there and with the Packers?

I was watching video of this rookie RB yesterday. He's impressive and very strong on his feet and elusively quick. He catches the ball well out of the backfield in the flat and in screen pass's. (Ahman Green).

I really like this young RB who's smart and totally tuned into his game. I'm excited to see what Johnathan Franklin brings to the table for the Packers.

He might even run for the office of mayor of Green Bay?

The Packers are going to have to make some decision about our sudden richness at the RB position but it's a nice problem to finally have.

Harlan in 1981 had 381 yards rushing in 139 attempts for a paltry 2.7 ypc, 221 yards receiving on 222 receptions, and 8 touchdowns ( 5 + 3)

That was Harlan's best year and we had him for five years. wtf?

I think Hucklebury's long tenure was a sign of how truly bad the Packers were at running back in the early 80s. After Eddie Lee Ivery made his annual exodus to IR all they had was Gerry Ellis and a bunch of nobodies. Huckleby was a star at Michigan, so at least he was a recognizable nobody. Terdell Middleton had that one great year, but aside from that his stats with the Packers look suspiciously Hucklebyesque: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MiddTe00.htm. In the end I would take Huckleby because I know that what comes with him: that oh so entertaining Dickey-Lofton-and-company aerial show. Plus a defense that is atrocious enough to make the offense have to go pedal to the metal for the entire game.

I would like to think this is going to be the year where he plays his best. He has absorbed what the NFL has to throw at him for 5 years. After last year he knows it doesn't matter that jennings left because he has guys that will catch it if he gets it to them. His future has been secured and I think we see more risk taking, leading to more big sensational plays.
