Who is on board while the Wagon has room ?

Bretsky is drinking the homer juice on Jermichael Finley

If he stays healthy I'm predicting 1,000 yards receiving and nine touchdowns

Jermichael Finley..........Pro Bowl.......don't be surprised

this is the thread to jump on the Finley Wagon......state your predictions.....and if need be....call me a homer.....revenge is yours :))

I predict that I will be on the Finley wagon again, and his head will be so big by week 8 that we don't have a helmet to fit so he is gameday inactive. He will break my heart once again.

Count me in. He's a hell of a talent. He's gone a little ways toward getting on the same page with how AR reads defenses. I also think AR and MM are focusing more on how to make the players around AR better. I have a feeling, and AR or MM don't say this, but I have a feeling they've adapted a little for Finely too.

He's very, very talented. I think he has a great year.

Sure, sure. Where were all of you when posters were trying to dump Finley to sign Wells?

Nope.

There was never a dump Finley and sign Wells from me; I've kept a foot on the wagon the whole time just just haven't taken the best seat in the house. Even last year, in he one annual big money FFL autction I participate in....I was elated to get JMike as one of the two TE's. Whie he disappoined, I'm fully ready to take him on again. I was a bit bummed, to be honest, at his breakthrough. Since most of the competitors reside in NY....I was hoping he would be quite in the preseason before leading us to the 6th title in 8 years. Now I might have to pay a lot for him.

The Wagon is getting ready to take off. It's rate Bretsky drinks the homer juice and spikes it like I do with J Mike. Hopefully this thread is not a curse

BTW, talent wise, Finley is a top 3 TE in the NFL. Out with the old and in with the new; the future of TE's rests with Graham, Gronk, and the Finley Wagon !

PB,

I've long said I didn't think Fin and AR were going to work well together. AR likes to make a lot adjustments. He needs guys who play that style of ball. Fin is more of a gamer. He worked well with Flynn the game Flynn played with him. Flynn plays more of a sandlot style - my guy beats yours.

I've changed my tune for two reasons.

1. It sounds like Fin has committed to the Packers style of offense

and

2. AR is taking responsibility this year to not just be the perfectionist at what he does, but also to make the guys around him better. I think that means adjusting to each players strengths and weaknesses more. In AR's perfect world, everyone would see the defense exactly how he does and be on the same page. The Packers push that envelope, of making subtle route adjustments. But it's not a perfect world. Fin, while he may be better, plays a little different style and if he had a QB who appreciated his style, he'd have bigger numbers IMO. Regardless, I think AR is going to adjust a little too.

I think Fin has a big year, and I didn't see this coming, but now I do.

I've been on Fin's wagon all along.

Finley fooled me once, his second year in the league when he appeared to turn things around from his rookie year. I praised him effusively for his new attitude and focus. It didn't last.

I am not refusing to get on the Finley Wagon, just delaying my boarding to be sure of its destination and route. Note, however, that I did list Finley as one of the bright spots from training camp:

Im on board.... I think he will have a great year. I just wish he would break a tackle once in a while, He has the size to run over DB's but all they do is lower a shoulder, bumb him and he goes down...

Finley's play has been impressive in the limited time I have seen him in the preseason games. However, he's been quiet. A leopard doesn't change his spots. It's only a matter of time until the diva comes out. That's my feeling on Finley. If he continues his good play, I really won't care. But, I'm sure this team is going to hit a rough patch, most likely the first three games, which in my opinion, are going to be brutal. If he continues to keep his mouth shut during times of adversity, then I may change my opinion.

AR is taking responsibility this year to not just be the perfectionist at what he does, but also to make the guys around him better.

I think you might be describing the decision last year not to just invite Finley to visit him in the hotel before GameDays but to literally escort him there.

And while the results even last year were encouraging, I have no idea what has actually changed on the field. Bob McAdoo is not helping:

So I am going to need someone's help to find the article that McAdoo was quoted in saying Finley needs to concentrate on less (including his routes I think) and just let it go.

Because Finley is saying both things: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/his-chemistry-right-with-aaron-rodgers-ball-comes-jermichael-finleys-way-b9977955z1-220079461.html

"It's not things you do on the field," Finley said. "It's things you talk about in the locker room. That's what we've been doing more and he's starting to get the trust in me catching the ball."

Now, for Finley, it's simple.

"Catch the ball," he said. "Catch the ball. Run your routes, diagnose the coverages right and run your route."

After this thread, maybe we need a poll: "When will Finley get hurt?"

Can he snap the ball better than Wells did on the goal line?

Maybe they could trade him for Wells, I'd do it;) As for the original question, hell no I'm not getting on the Finley wagon. He will be back to dropping passes and running his mouth before mid season.

Despite all the hate, Finley has been a good player for the Packers. He's a major threat that defenses account for. When coverage goes away, he's good enough to take advantage. He has not lived up to the huge contract, but he could this year. Finley for Wells? Not even close in my book.

I'll jump on. Even if his goal is to lead the Packers to a SB title so he can get a big fat contract elsewhere, that works for me.

Finley is having his best camp ever. Knowing what we know, that should prompt the question, when is he going to pull, tear or break something?

The Finley/Wells argument I put forth was based on the facts of their roster. It was not based on who was the better, or more talented player. They had other TEs, and it was expected that Quarless would be back. On the other hand, they didn't seem to have a center to replace Wells (later substantiated by the signing of Saturday). My point was simply that they might be better off spending what money they had on Wells rather than Finley.

But, Wells got a somewhat bigger contract than I thought he would, and Finley went for a two year contract, which I also did not expect. Probably won't matter because both will likely be gone in 2014.

With Jennings gone it would not suprise me if they keep JMike and pay him some very good money. Then let either Nelson or Jones go while Cobb fills their void. We have nobody to fill the void if Finley excels and it's hard to believe they'd let Jennings and Finley walk in two consecutive years.

That wouldn't surprise me, but I don't put it as a high probability. If JF has a big year, he could be awful expensive.

This. Even with the early season swoon last year, Finley has been the better signing no doubt. Esp. with Wells' guaranteed money.

I don't know much about the draft but I be stunned if the end of the 2nd round came about (maybe 3rd) and the Packers had not drafted an unknown wide receiver to replace Nelson or Jones eventually.

The Jets have stolen Finley's cheat sheet from this year (all material originally Bull Durham and New England Patriots): Front

Nice post and I have to say I agree. IF Finley does what he has to do we will all be doing cartwheels, TT included. I have my doubts though and even more so with all you pukes overloading the wagon. Count me out because I think Finley will say fuck GB if given the opportunity after a big year.
