Watching the post game start time special edition pre-game show right now.

Tony Dungy and two other guys standing around with umbrellas. Mary Popins and toupee comments were the highlight of the conversation. Then they cut to Michele Tofoya who's standing out there braving it! Windy as hell.

I think Michelle had someone holding something for her. Her hair was dry and it was raining hard.

No Montee Ball so far. Welker is Welker but four yard outs are a tough way to get down the field.

Flacco looked like he saw nothing deep on their first possession. Stokely is SO old he couldn't run to a first down with a 10 yard head start.

That was a nasty collision between Jacoby Jones and the UDFA that made the team. The rookie didn't do his career any favours with a boneheaded play like that.

Not terribly impressed with either team tonight. Ravens will collapse under the pressure of being Superbowl champions this year. Manning's noodle arm is accurate but has absolutely no zip on the ball.

I have had my eye on Julius Thomas the whole preseason as a guy who will greatly outperform expectations. Ditto for the Cleveland TE

In the 3G New York Auction Leage every team has to start two Tight Ends and in the auction we ended up with Jermicael Finley, Tony Gonzalez, Jordan Cameron, and Julius Thomas. We got the latter two VERY cheap.

With every team having to start two TE's if you find a sleeper or two they have huge value in trades so I like stockpiling sleepers there

He was downright dominant for a "noodle" arm. What exactly would impress you more than what Manning did?

Anyone else think that Harbaugh turned total pussy in the 4th quarter? I realize that the Ravens chance of winning were very slim, but not going for it on 4th down late in the game and then not even going for the inside kick was really weak. It's interesting that a guy plays that scared when his team has alread lost.

That FG attempt was idiotic. Way too close to blow that field position on a FG attempt. You have a lot more difficult plays to make to catch up in this game than 4th and 3 or 4 yards at the 25 yardline.

I was heavily in favour of it. I've got the Ravens kicker on a fantasy team, so it meant a sure 3 instead of a possible 1 point!

Manning's noodle arm is accurate but has absolutely no zip on the ball.

I'm not sure that matters much as long as the QB understands his own velocity and is adept at reading the defense and quickly moving from option to option.

Well, it does limit his choices.

He's smart, very smart, though.

But I do like it when the Packers play a team with an immobile quarterback. And Peyton Manning is about as mobile as Lynn Dickey is - now.

He is no speedster but Manning is a master at keeping his feet moving and being able to create enough space in the pocket to let him throw. Watch him, he dances like a bear on two legs but both hands and arms are always ready to throw. Technically, he's very impressive. In the pocket he's better than Rodgers.

Outside of it is when he is toast and will throw it away.

Fritz

I don't doubt your observation. There's a reason he's been so great. But I'd prefer the Packers play a QB with his style, as opposed to a running QB.

But Manning also crumples like a tin can in a vise the moment he's touched.

lol @ the criticism's of Peyton! I've never been a fan of his, hate the chicken dance he does before the snap, but he's about as complete a QB as you'll ever see. And pretty damn tough too, does everyone forget that before his neck injury, he hadn't missed a start in his career? There was talk, and not unwarranted, that he had a shot at a certain QB's iron man record.

Is his arm that bad? I didn't notice it Thursday, but wasn't really watching. He had a couple of pretty long completions, his arm looked pretty good to me. The Ravens tackling also looked pretty horrid, I might add.

I'm not really criticizing Manning. Much. He's one of the all-time greats, no doubt. I just go nuts though when an opposing QB scrambles away - the Packers never seem to do well against that type of QB. I'd prefer they play a more immobile guy.

My only criticism is how quickly he crumples when he is touched by a defender. However, that might be why he stayed healthy so long.
