Per @JayGlazer, Aldon Smith could enter rehab facility this week. Accurate report, but we're told final decision hasn't been made.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 52m
As @mortreport reported, a consensus reached that Aldon Smith needs treatment for his substance abuse problems after today's game.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 29m
NFL not planning discipline for Aldon Smith until legal process complete. But multiple game suspension possible: http://t.co/xbAG8staVw

first play of the colts 49ers game. 49er defender goes shoulder/helmet to melmet on the runner and gets flagged

why can't we get those refs?

Well, Colts are for real and the 49ers look like the Packers in 4 o'clock games

Jet absolutely intent on losing this game. Up by 7 points in the 4th quarter, Bills have a 3rd and 5, defense commits an encroachment foul to gift Buffalo a first down.

F'n Bears...luckiest team in the NFL. Their defense must step in shit before every game.

3-0, here they come.

Ugh!

Steelers o-line is porous. The way they don't score, it could already be a blowout.

I wonder if teams like SF and SEA that pride themselves on being physical will wear themselves out by playoff time. SF especially, seem like they have a lot of veterans and don't substitute as much as others.

Steelers look undermanned on offense and limited on D.

Bears can be run on but Steelers not taking advantage of it.

You are right. They rarely substitute and were blessed the last 2 years with good health. They don't keep people fresh. Aldon Smith is headed to rehab and Willis injured his groin. This defense is going to take a hit at some point, and that point may be now.

Bears have failed to put the Steelers away. I am always amazed the Steeler defense finds a way to adjust. Though it still doesn't look like Cutler likes his other receivers besides marshall. Maybe Bennett.

Loved this ESPN header:

The Giants aren't underachieving. They are simply one of the NFL's worst teams.

Getting shutout versus the Panthers D is embarrassing but somewhat understandable. Allowing 30+ points to the Panthers offense is probably a fireable offense.

As good as I think Newton could be, they have been a catastrophe with Shula as O coordinator.

If SF keeps playing like they have the last 2 games we won't have to worry about that bunch.

Atlanta is also 1-2. The only teams with winning records in the NFC are the Bears, Loins, SEA, Dallas and NO.

There's that but their D just does not look as solid as it has over the last few years. They've had a tendency to get pretty leaky.

TBH. They're playing a bit like the 2011 Packers D: giving up a lot of big plays but getting a lot of takeaways. Even the struggling Steelers offense hit some big plays.

Yes, you give a D five TOs like Pittsburgh did and the odds of a score go way up. There were times in the second half that the Steelers had no trouble going up and down the field.

Remember when no one could stop Kaepernick?

We all knew that Kaepernick's running was a limited time offer. I wonder if the Pack over-committed to stopping his running week 1? Seems like SF is not terribly interested in running Kap. Of course, you can't blame the Pack much going on what they knew. A good adjustment in that game would've been to back off the containment of him a bit and see if he started taking off. I don't know what he would've.

R. Wilson isn't doing much running either. He's got 54 yards in 3 games with 33 of them coming against SF.

Packers don't seem to be too adept at making mid-game adjustments. They seem to be single-mindedly focused on their game plan.

TOs will kill ya. That is why we are presently 1-2. If we fix that I think we'll be fine.
