The Wilf's have been ordered to pay $84 million to plaintiffs in a court case over a housing development/management deal.

The order also calls for punitive damages that are not yet calculated and await a criminal probe. Apparently, though, according to PFT, Minnesota feels that the Wilf's have enough cash to handle the judgement and still contribute to the new stadium fund.

But if I were the State of Minnesota, I would hire extra accountants to keep tabs on Wilf related developments.

An appeal seems likely to be filed, delaying at least the punitive damages portion of the judgement.

The initial finding that the Wilfs had committed fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and civil racketeering triggered a review by authorities in Minnesota regarding the Wilfs ability to pay for their portion of the new stadium. It was determined that they have the cash to satisfy their obligations.

This brings up the question of whether the NFL has rules on ownership that might kick in. With a judgement like this against them, if they were attempting to buy a team now, I wonder if they would be approved?

Wilf is only on the hook for 60% of that 84M. His other two cohorts pay 20% each I believe. What an embarassing 24 hours for the Vikings. Losing to a team that is trying to tank and now this judgement being 34M more than what was thought was going to be the max.

PSLs just went up 50% on the new stadium.

Flying J could get Milf outta town in a heartbeat - and a fantastically reduced price!

That's already a done deal. Unless Wilf declares bankruptcy or goes to jail there ain't no stopping the stadium up here.

You have money, you get what you want.
