Looks like Josh McCown this week although Bears are hinting Cutler may not be out as long as expected. He started against the Packers late in 2011 when the Packers defeated the Bears 35-21.

Cutler the pussy coming back from a major injury early? Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha

The Bears know it is hunting season, and the Packer run game just grabbed a rifle.

On defense, GB could have trouble with the WR's but McCann is throwing to them and the secondary is overdue for some INTs. Forte will have some but not much success with Jolly/Pickett/Raji plugging things up.
On offense, CHI's run defense is statistically worse than MIN's, and GB's confidence running the ball has to be high. The Bears DL is really beat up and are playing backups that should be pushed around. Their front 7 isn't what it used to be. Rodgers will be facing better CB's this week and I don't expect him to be as sharp as vs. MIN, but he'll be efficient & effective, and clearly a better QB than McCann. If James Jones plays that will give him another weapon and really stress the Bears secondary.

Packers are at home and favored by a bunch. If they avoid penalties and turnovers, they should win.

Tony Oday

They have no offense and their defense is a shell of its former self. Lacy/Starks for 200 and 3 TDs and AR for 250 and 2 TD.

McNown actually looked better than Cutlery when he went in against Washington. With a week to prepare for him GB ought to be able to expose his weaknesses while also preventing Forte from running wild. The only way they'll have problems against the Bears is if we see a rash of turnovers and McNown hooks up with Jeffries and Marshall for some big plays.

Injury Reports

Taylor looks good to go for Monday. Perry did not respond well to work last week and is not practicing.

James Jones is still doing work on sidelines. Brad Jones looks like full participant.

Either that, or he pulled his hamstring trying to clean up his pad level in practice.

I agree. Last week, he was close to playing, and now this week he can't practice? It sure sounds like his injury, or extent of recovery, was not diagnosed properly. Next offseason, there need to be some changes here.

Let's not get too caught up in one partial practice for Perry. McCarthy said this after that Friday practice:

-Nick Perry did OK. He was a limited role today. We’ll see how he feels. Hopefully, he’ll be ready for Sunday night.

This thread: http://packerrats.com/showthread.php?26048-Nick-Perry-could-return-this-week
This article: http://www.packersnews.com/article/20131025/PKR0101/131025023

This is probably a case of reading WAY too much into "hopefully". Remember, McCarthy routinely downplays injuries to avoid talking about them (unless confessing to a more significant injury timetable is better at letting him off the hook). Limited can also mean limited to sideline work as rehab OR some reps with the team. Not clear which Perry had, though reporters usually distinguish between the two if they see it (players doing rehab eventually head back inside during practice).

When a player returns to practice after an absence, the first test is to see how they react the next day. If Perry's foot reacted by getting worse, it would be par for the course to shut him down again.

Brad Jones has gone full practice for 3 straight days. James Jones increased from rehab on Thursday to regular practice Fri and Sat. JJones calls it maybe a 50/50 shot.

Shields missed a practice but it was a precaution. He is expected to play.
