steve young just hit the nail on the head, we gambled and decided we didn't need a real backup and that idea is about to squat in our face

I knew that going into the season, but I didn't think Wallace was this bad. He looked like a 1st year rookie that's afraid to get hit. If he steps up in the pocket a couple times instead of running away, he might have done something.

If AR can be back in 2-3 weeks, we have a chance to right the ship.

If the injury is 4-6 weeks or longer, the season is all but over.

Wallace isn't good, but getting reps during a week of practice will help him.

Ya know, the problem it is that it is the backup's job to be ready to go.

So if you don't blame Wallace, you gotta blame TT.

This game doesn't say much about the Bears. Guys on ESPN are giving the Bears way too much credit.

Lets not forget the no challenge. Wasted a rare completion by Wallace

Maybe he could shot put some throws to our depleted receiving corp.

I love how one Rodger injury has now pushed Flynn back to certain starting quality status after he has been released by three teams this year.

I am stunned he isn't trending on Twitter.

Wallace isn't good, but getting reps during a week of practice will help him.

Inability of offense to sustain drives wore out the defense at the end.

a week of first team reps isn't gonna fix his weak ass arm or his low delivery

if he starts next week the eagle d-lineman are gonna have there hands in the air on every pass and probably knock down a few passes

I'm gonna wait for MM press conference to hear him say he doesn't know what Rodgers injury is. A waste of my time and I already know it, yes. Do I care? I guess not.

You enjoyed watching 2 sacks to end the game? Last two plays and the ball doesn't leave the QB's hand? That was a good play to you? I realize you didn't say that and don't think that. But you don't see how I could be upset by it? Fuck you man.

Chann, take it easy, don't go Incognito on us! :D

Its only a football game. Its not like there was an earthquake in Chicago today.

QFT Wallace was in a tough spot, trying to do the best he can. This is why you have an off-season and don't leave so much to chance. They needed to realize sooner that Harrell was not the answer, or at least give him some serious competition in the off-season. That way you are not cutting three backups during pre-season or up to the final roster cut-down. That is a challenging time to need a backup QB, even one that has played in the same kind of system. The front office and coaching staff wear this one. This could have happened any game and they just did not have that position ready. Mr. Flynn on line 2.

MM: Rodgers' injury, just had chance to speak to him, shoulder injury. They want to run more tests. Don't have exact diagnosis.

Also, Lang concussion, Barrington had a hamstring

Tom Silverstein ‏@TomSilverstein 1m
MM: Broken collarbone? Don't have an exact diagnosis.

I'm not a very good judge of QBs, especially backups. It's easy to evaluate starters, but with backups you are trying to tell the difference between lousy and really lousy. To me, Vince Young looked OK for a backup. As I say, I can't tell.

Don't MRI's usually take place the next day? The good news is that if it was a broken collarbone, they'd probably know that by now.

Hoping for the best. Separated shoulder or AC joint injury would be more hopeful than a dislocated shoulder or (obviously) a broken collar bone. I don't recall seeing him wearing any type of sling, but of course he was wearing a sweat jacket, so it could have been rigged up with the jacket over it. Get well soon Aaron! Time to call Matt Flynn. We're better with him. He has more time in our system than anywhere else.

Final thought
Eddie Lacy = Earl Campbell
Seneca Wallace = Rich Campbell

It didn't help that the defense was down to 2 OLB, one of whom was a converted DE, and that they lost Lang on their last scoring drive. They damn near had to go out and start signing people up right off the street.

Losing Lang last night might have been the second biggest injury news from last night's game that isn't being talked about.

Concussion in the first half. I thought McCarthy was running a jumbo formation with Barclay at RT and Newhouse at TE. But someone posted a Lang update that he was out with a concussion.

BTW, the Packers should get great credit for acknowledging head injuries as concussions and not beating around the bush trying to cheat the system. It reflects well on the team.

True, and I agree concussions are nothing to ignore. However sometimes I wish this team could play through some of their boo boo's.

A bad nights sleep last night after the Bears @ Lambeau and loss of Rodgers and Lang.

Just taking stock and found this interesting observation/reaction, after the game overall.

Seneca Wallace can't replace Aaron Rodgers

By Chris Wesseling ... Around the League Writer ... Published: Nov. 5, 2013 at 12:47 a.m. ... Updated: Nov. 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.

"Bolstered by a couple of fortuitous bounces and what is quickly becoming the NFL's most dominant ground attack, Wallace held the offense hostage after replacing Rodgers. By the middle of the third quarter, the Bears' defense was stacking the box to stop Eddie Lacy and daring Wallace to beat them through the air.

Wallace couldn't do it."

Here's what else we learned in Monday's game:

1. Bears coach Marc Trestman arrived in Chicago with a reputation as a quarterback whisperer. Through half a season we've seen nothing to dispel that notion. Banished from the NFL as an assistant high school coach for the majority of 2011 and 2012, McCown has been every bit as impressive as Jay Cutler as an injury fill-in the past two games. McCown checked into the correct run calls, made plays out of the pocket, pushed the ball accurately down the field and found a way to get the ball into his best players' hands in the red zone Monday night. With Trestman pushing all the right buttons, the Bears have no reason to rush Cutler back before he's ready.

2. Between Trestman's Midas touch and the Bears' physical receivers, McCown was in a better position to succeed than any backup quarterback this season. McCown and Brandon Marshall connected on a spectacular 23-yard touchdown, and Alshon Jeffery continues to play like one of the best young skill-position players in the NFL.

This team is in trouble, big time. They could field a better team with the injured players than the one they put on the field. Not quite, but seems like it! I thought the D was disgusting last night, sometimes you have to sac up and give your team a shot. MM is kind of a pussy in my eyes too. Why don't you challenge the call on the pass to Quarless, you have nothing really to lose, but a meaningless timeout. You have a ton to gain, that play puts you close to a scoring opportunity. Then you come out and call and onside kick, cause you know your O can't sustain drives? I don't know whether to give him credit for keeping the game close or calling him out for not at least trying to take advantage of 8 and 9 man boxes. I'm leaning toward pussy, cause they lost and as a fan I'm allowed to be irrational!

And due to the concussion process - he's not playing Sunday, is that correct?

Depends on how he responds to tests compared to preseason baseline.

Only rule is you have to come out of that game. Now just needs clearance from team and independent neurologist.

I am more praying for Lang to return because Barclay had a monster whiff while at Guard. He would have a dangerous learning curve there.
