ok Guiness, after seeing your list... I have to say that your last entry caught my curiosity and I clicked on the link...somewhat afraid of what I was going to see....

FAQS.... BIG BIG opposite than what I thought the site would be about, lol.

Yeah, game fags probably wasn't the best URL they could come up with.

come on guys and gals its a Q not a G. Guess you don't play video games. great site guiness, i've been there many times, especially when i'm stuck in a particular game.

MJZiggy
04-18-2006, 08:21 AM
That's good to know. My little one who's not so little anymore is getting into a few of the games and it's good to know there's a place he can go with questions because I am certainly no help.

I had Atari and never needed a website to help me get through a game

lol - good Freudian slip, girls.

Hottie Rat 1 - yes, you can be pretty comfortable letting the young 'uns go to gamefaQs. If they stick to the FAQs and Guides pages there will be no problem at all.
However, there are discussion boards, but they're pretty tame as far as I've seen. I've seen a bit of swearing, but they don't allow pictures, etc.

Hottie Rat 2 - maybe your Atari (or my Colecovision!) didn't need guides, but they didn't have campaign style games that require you to invest 100h+ to finish! With those old things, you were happy if it saved your high score

I don't know why. It's like what would be left if you took the fiction, humor, and sarcasm out of the Onion.

At first I poured over the mountain of content to try to figure out if this stuff was for real. The terrible artwork is enough to make you shoot soda out your nose at times. Then I started randomly reading bits here and there. I guess I'm addicted to completely strange and useless information presented in astonishingly low-budget fashion.

Here's a sample:
