Philly didn't have enough field to throw a bomb, so they had to settle for 3.

i think we know what kind of team this is. its not the patriots from a few years ago when brady went down and they still won 11 games. this is the colts from a couple years ago when they went 2-14 when they lost peyton

we are not a team, we are a quarterback

I'm done, all I can do is laugh at this point.

They're playing with a practice squad QB who doesn't know the plays. Reshuffled O-line. Laughter is best medicine.

Don't you guys love how when our leader Rodgers goes down, not one guy, not ONE FUCKING GUY steps up and makes a play? Williams early on can intercept a pass and drops it resulting in an Eagle TD. Crosby decides today is the perfect day to miss field goals again. The defense gives up big plays. Ugh.

The Giants have made a come back to go ahead of Oakland 21-20.

If they play us at home next week and winning three straight they'll be tough.

Minny doesn't look horrible and the Lions are leading the Bears on the road 14-10 early in the 4th quarter.

NO PLAYOFFS for the Green Bay Packers according to the NFL.Com experts.

No love for the Green Bay Packers. They couldn't wait one more week to make such a declaration?

These are the NFL experts !?? To close the coffin on the Packers season today isn't sensible IMO.

I really disagree. The fumble was close but in this case he had the nose of the ball in his hand and the rest was on the ground between his leg.

But he HAD control of it, the ball rolled with his body and hand. Not the ground. The ground did not move it. It can touch as long as you have control. Ball moved with Nelson not the ground. That HAS to be control.

Yeah, boy. I don't know what to think about the defense any more. It sure looks like Rodgers + the new run game and a bit more ball control was masking a lot of issues on the defensive side of the ball.

The DBs have been a huge disappointment, Charlie Peprah might as well have been back there today. But I really don't know if it is them or a lack of pressure.

He was 12 for 18 and 228 yards and 3 TD's. That gives him 16 TD's this season in limited duty. I believe he will remain the Eagles NO. 1 QB.

Our new guy Scott 'the Kid' Tolzien.

Very disappointed. This team had a lot of promise with a much improved running game and so many weapons. I honestly thought this was a super bowl worthy team. With a backup quaerterback, it falls on the defense to take up the slack. They've completely lost the ability to rush the passer and stop the run. This loss falls on the defense. I can't see them winning a game without Rodgers and with this defense

Agree, but part of that is on the QB too, i.e. ball placement. I liked Tolzien's aggressiveness, but some of his throws were not where the receiver is used to. But that's the nature of playing a 3rd string QB. Collectively, O-line, WRs and the QB sucked today. Not much you can do about it.

I know coaches like to say injuries are no excuse, next man up and all that, but at some point the adversity becomes a bit too much to overcome to provide a realistic chance to compete and win. In the recent Super Bowl year, they had guys go down for the year and replaced them on the roster. This year has some of that, but also a lot of guys with nagging injuries who may be out for a few weeks, but not enough to IR them. They still have to hold their roster spot, which temporarily hurts their depth and production. Frustrating season for sure.

As for the defense, they are not getting a lot of pressure on the QB. Mostly, both McCown and Foles looked like they had too much time and not enough disruption to their drop backs. That would certainly help the DB's. It would be nice to see Datone break out and show why he was drafted in the first round.

Good god, men. Last week at this time our quarterback was on the freaking practice squad. He came into the game without a SINGLE rep with the first team offense and still threw for 280 yards. Were it not for some truly pathetic officiating, he had a shot to win this thing. That was a catch. Those were shots to the head, and that was absolutely, positively, pass interference. And we did that without our starting center. Our best pass rusher has a club on his hand and we still managed a few sacks. Hawk has actually been playing well. Yeah, the secondary needs to step it up some. All that said, fire Slocum and for the first time I'll say he can take Crosby with him.

280 yards is not that impressive on 39 attempts. and 280 yards doesn't mean anything when you only score one TD. and he should have thrown 4 or 5 ints, not just 2. a couple passes were just absolutely horrible that hit wide open defenders right in their chests and they somehow pulled tramons

I get what your saying, the odds were stacked against us, especially more so once Wallace went down. It's just been two brutal games, games that should have been won if we have Rodgers.

But, the secondary has needed to step up since the 2nd half of the Vikings game. That's now 10 quarters by my count. Riley Cooper - c'mon, Riley F'n Cooper had two TDs. Riley Cooper probably doesn't make that Eagles team if Maclin doesn't get hurt in training camp. Our secondary is better than that.

Yes, I just saw the game recap and I take back any qualifiers about the D. Nice sacks, but the rest sucked.

that wasn't calvin johnson making us look like a bunch of assholes out there, that was riley "the grand wizard" cooper lighting us up

this wasn't the seahawks or 49ers defenses that held us to 1 td and 13 total points. IT WAS THE 31st RANKED defense in the NFL.

31st. as in second to last. and that includes playing the giants twice already. it was the fewest amount of points given up by the second worst defense in the NFL

i think that sums it up

a fat guy pulled out of the stands and forced to stand at midfield should have been able to shit out a decent offensive day

he played like a guy that should be on the practice squad

No way. He played better than some starting QBs. You think Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker or Terrel Pryor have anything on his performance today?

Nope. It wasn't enough to win because the defense couldn't help him with his mistakes (well, they did help once with Williams strip sack).

The only time he looked vaguely practice squad-ish was in the red zone and he got one TD there.

Its either pass rush, safeties or tackling. Since M3 doesn't go after his own roster construction, I am betting tackling.

Or could be that nickel the Eagles were running on late. I don't know, nothing is a perfect fit except the safeties.

But given the way McCarthy deals with his coaches and lets the position coaches alot playing time (Trgo and Green decide when to sub backups in for instance, I bet Van Pelt makes the calls for the RBs) he might be talking about who starts in what packages. Benching players who are not performing has a precedent with M3.

So if not tackling, I am going with changing the starters (base or bus).

Spoon makes the case that it's Capers.

Of course, Tom could just be reading the social media stats and playing to that.

good, he can take a few players and coaches with him

he trows the ball hard, that all he brings too the table. he made a lot of stupid decisions and was not all that accurate

his one TD the guy was open by about 10-15 yards and he still almost blew that throw

I don't think he'll be released, but Sherrod better get some practice time at RT. I have no clue how EDS is doing...at this point I'm afraid to look at the injury report. Guys were dropping like flies.

Other cryptic McCarthy quote: "It’s about anything in life, you get what you tolerate or you get what you emphasize." What is he tolerating?

OK, that is targeted to players and their playing time.

Reading later in that post, I found MM's quote about special teams being solid a bit of a head scratcher. Your kicker misses two field goals and that's solid??

2-4 with one being a 53 yarder that hit the upright and the other missing by a few inches isn't terrible

eagles guy missed one just wide right too

that south endzone could really be screwing with things more then we can tell on tv

its like all 3 of the kicks were kicked dead straight and expected to turn in, but they all stayed straight and missed to the right by inches

Could Stubby be talking about Crosby?

i find it hard to believe that crosby is the answer to our problems. a lot of other guys on this team had much worse games

and besides, if crosby hits his 2 missed FG's we still lose by 8 points

I would take it meaning that he's sick of the secondary play or the defense as a whole. Besides MM rated the ST play as solid.

I thought that might be the immediate change M3 was talking about but I can't see them releasing Newhouse with all of the injuries to the OL. He might have made up his mind to give Sherrod a shot and move Newhouse down the depth chart.

I still think the shakeup will be on D. But it could just be a relatively minor thing like cutting a marginal starter.

True, but I have absolutely no faith that MM will actually follow through and make any D changes, as in firing Capers.

lol. M3 just felt someone needed stern talking-to. We'll never know.

It would fit his description, but does 6 points make enough difference? And to this point, Crosby hasn't been on the Dud list this year. So timeline is off; sounds like M3 was talking about this year to me, but I suppose it doesn't foreclose the possibility.

A 52 yarder with the wind at Crosby's back. I'll take that every time. We needed points.

The new addition has caused lots of weird wind issues at Lambeau. The American flag on top of the stadum was blowing hard with the wind from the South and West. The goal post flags on the North end were blowing straight to the East and the goal post flags on the South end were limp. The wind really swirls inside the stadium now.

thats exactly what i needed to know

hey TD, do you remember which way all the missed FG's were going? i know the one that hit the upright was going towards the south endzone. were the other two going that way too?
