Packers OK with Eddie Lacy's odometer

By Tyler Dunne of the Journal Sentinel

Nov. 21, 2013

Green Bay —

" This point last season, the most carries a Green Bay Packers running back had under his belt was 87 carries.

Through 10 games this season, rookie Eddie Lacy already has 172 ".

Running backs coach Alex Van Pelt isn’t worried about Lacy’s health or the back potentially hitting the dreaded rookie wall.

“It happens more mentally than physically, I think, just the beatings and you start to drag a little bit,” Van Pelt said. “We always address it, we talk about it. We’re in Week 14 of games played, including the preseason, so his season’s over in college.

“I don’t see that he’s hitting the wall at all.”..."

I'll happily eat crow for predicting Lacy would top out in the 160-180 range because of his injury history and how much M3 historically ran the ball.
All the same, M3 says he wants to get Starks more involved (and now Franklin) but doesn't seem to actually do it. Starks got his yearly injury and Franklin got Finley-fingers, so I guess there wasn't much alternative.
Would the two games out with the concussion plus the bye have helped?

Lacy's played well thus far, but with Rodgers out really has taken a beating the last few weeks. Maybe worried is the wrong word, more like careful/keep him on a snap count. If he's averaging 17-18 carries a game, he should be ok.

I think they need to run Starks more because he is effective..and to keep lacy fresh.

Yes....and where is Jonathan Franklin? Initial thoughts and this RB:

Are they trying to hide him? Is it the two fumbles? Where has he been since the Cleveland game except ringing up ZERO's?

Johnathan Franklin's Stat's in his Rookie season.
